Dark figure's

This is the last thing il ever write, my last words to you. I hope you can understand. Understand how I've felt all these years, the pain I've gone through, all the blame I've taken. I'd like to take the time to write what actually happened that night, how it began and how it ended.

SCENE 1
I had been staying over at my cousin Caroline's house for the summer. that's when things started getting weird. Caroline and I had been watching a Ghibli movie, when she had to use the washroom. "I got to go drop a Duce " she said winking, as she paused the movie. I always loved her for her humour. And notice how I said paused? When Caroline left I had nothing better to do but
check my phone, thinking she might take some time. While my eyes were glued to my screen I realized. I could hear the movie playing. My eyes looked up at the tv and sure enough, it was playing. I knew for a fact that it had been paused, I watched her pause it myself.

Caroline returned from the washroom just moments after, "false alarm!" She said as her eyes darted to the tv. "You started it without me, you aaass!"
"Wahhhhh !"
I remember looking confused as I told her, it had started on its own. I asked if she had some sort of timer on it?
"Hon this thing is old as balls, it ain't got no timer." We both laughed as she explained that it happened all the time, and I brushed it off as just a broken old dvd player.

SCENE 2:
The second time something happened was only a few days later.
I always turned the lights off in Caroline's room, but it seemed as if they were always on, every time I walked in, they were on. I went to discuss this with Caroline because, let's face it, I'm an environmental freak and, I don't particularly like it when people waste unnecessary power. But when I told her about the lights, she said she always turns them off, she doesn't like to waste power either. We try to find an explanation but there was nothing besides us just being to forgetful, so I shrug it off once again.

SCENE 3:
It had been a hot summer that year, and it was like Caroline's room fans were doing nothing, even at night we were boiling in the heat.
When it got dark we would get itchy, as if something was poking and scratching at us, thinking it was just bugs coming in through our open window, we ignored it. After awhile it started getting worse, like someone, or something was clawing at our bodies.
And it didn't stop there, there wasn't a trace of any bug bites, no spider, no flea, no mosquito. Instead in their place lay red marks in the shape of finger prints, some redder than others. I remember seeing Caroline's panicked face when she looked to me to say, "this obviously isn't from a bug, it.. It looks like human hands." I also remember thinking we couldn't tell the police, they might think we were being abused at home. We loved our parents so we weren't going to risk it. We turned over and flopped onto our beds. Trying not to think to much into it.

SCENE 4:
Sometimes I would sit in Caroline's room facing towards her big bookshelf. I would play on my phone or just draw, and that's when I would see a mans shadow peeking out from behind that bookshelf, sometimes it would just stand there, but other times it would wave as if beckoning me over. I denied the thought of something supernatural happening to me, so I blamed it on the trick of the eye. But it happened too frequently I was getting worried, I started to believe it more.

(( the more you believe the more he roams ))

Scene 5:
Later that night we had been quietly laughing to ourselves like usual before going to bed, when we heard a deep bellowing laugh, and it was as if the owner was the entire room itself. In shock I looked over at Caroline, in hopes I had just imagined it. But when I looked over Not only did she also look shocked but, I saw something I wish I hadn't. Right behind Caroline was the dark figured man crouched down right beside her head. This time he had a 3D form, before he was just a shadow on the wall. He was even close enough for Caroline to feel his breath, but she seemed to not noticed him. I blinked not believing what I saw. I blinked a few more times and then. He was gone.

SCENE 6:
After I explained to Caroline what I had seen creeping up from behind her, she was spooked I could tell. It was written all over her face. She really hadn't noticed, questions flooded my mind..Was it human? a person? Was it even alive? We still couldn't tell the police, who would even consider our story like ours anyways? We couldn't talk to them for for two reasons now. We tried to tell ourselves that we just weren't getting enough sleep, we had stayed up too late every night. I can't believe we actually managed to convince ourselves that.

SCENE 7:
Later that night when we went to bed Caroline smiled up at me at me. Even though I had convinced myself what I saw didn't happen, I still worried about it. but I smiled and pretended i wasn't, so I wouldn't worry her I suppose. At first our night was peaceful, and I actually thought it was going to be fine, that we would be able to fall asleep. But then, to my great horror, I heard that menacing, deep voice, laugh, the laugh that seemed to bellow from the room itself. In the corner of my eye I saw the dark figure crawl out from behind the bookshelf towards me. I tried to move my head to look at it, but found myself unable to move my head. I tried to move the rest of my body, but I was incapable of doing so. I felt paralyzed, I remember thinking I was paralyzed out of fear. But now I know that's not what it was. The dark figure came so close to me as it crawled on all fours. When it finally reached me, I was absolutely petrified. And to my horror it brought its featureless black face right up to mine, I realized it had no breath, like it didnt breath at all. And as if I wasn't already scared enough, it pushed its hands down on my chest, as if trying to stop my breathing. I tried to struggle free but it just put more force onto my chest the more I did. I struggled for so long that, I gave up the struggle and it released its force little by little, until it just stood up and looked down at me. I remember it seemed like hours before it finally walked back to its spot behind the bookshelf. As soon as it was gone I gasped for air as I could finally move once again

SCENE 8:

I remember being so terrified that I had had climbed into Caroline's bed. She kept asking me what was wrong, but she couldn't understand through all my sobs and gasps. "What's wrong you looked like you were having a seizure, it lasted for like 3 minutes!" I told Caroline that we needed to get out NOW. Even though my words came out jumbled, I had said it clear enough for Caroline to understand. Once again the room filled with that damn laugh. I slowly turned my head to look at the wall behind us, where the light was shining in from the hall. There he was. Standing on the wall as a shadow, he didn't have any form whatsoever. Just. A Shadow.
without a mouth it somehow told us,

"ITS YOUR TURN NOW"

As it disappeared into the darkness of the room. I remember frantically telling Caroline to run, to get out, that its after me. She didn't want to leave me, no rather she couldn't leave me, we were best friends after all. I had to force her to leave, I pushed her out the door as I slammed my body against it in an attempt to stop her from getting back in. As I waited for the dark figure to rip my soul out or whatever it was going to do me, I could hear Caroline banging on the door crying "I won't leave you!" I started to cry myself, I didn't want to leave her either. I could hear her running around the house. And then she screamed and I could hear his laugh. But this time, it wasn't in the bedroom. It was with Caroline. hearing this made me realize something. What if it was after Caroline all along? I stood up fast as I tried to open the door, but it wouldn't budge. I could hear her frantically running around the house. I heard the front door squeak open as she ran out. I quickly stumbled over to the only window in her room. Hoping to grab her attention. But I was too late. The shadow figure's hand arose from the ground grabbing Caroline's leg and pulling her down. I screamed for her to run! She looked at me horrified before it pulled her down under to who knows where.

That was the last time I ever saw her.

The dark figure isn't just a shadow, It can take on a 3D Form, I know this Because I saw it pull its self out of the ground as a 3D figure, before it disappeared forever. And where were my parents in all this? Out drinking every night.
No one believes my tale. Everyone blames me for her disappearance. I can't take it anymore. It's over.
