Chapter Three: Guess who I Met
"What are you in next?" Niall asked me.
"I think I have gym."
"Great, so do Demi and I, so we'll walk you there."
"Okay."
"Are you thinking of joining any cl-" Niall was cut off Harlem.
"Hello, little sister."
"Stop being so dramatic Harlem, you saw me an hour ago?"
"Give a man a break."
"You're not a man. You sleep in a onesie."
Demi sniggered.
Harlem turned to face her, "Hey! Remember me?" He said.
"Yeah of course!" She smiled.
"I mean, how could you ever forget me?" He gave her his signature smirk.
Demi blushed, "I've gotta get to gym. Teacher's kind of an ass."
"I've got gym too, so I'll walk you there." He placed his hand on her waist and they walked away.
"I guess we're invisible," Niall said. "Come on, let's go."
I followed him out of the room.
"How come you're not a jock?"
"I'm not really into football."
"I kind of guessed that."
"What do you mean?"
"You don't seem like a football kind of guy."
"Oh."
"What do you do then, any sports or anything?"
"I'm really into guitar."
"That's so cool, how long have you been playing?"
"Quite a while. Ever since I could remember."
"That was quick." I said as we reached the PE department.
"Yeah, shortcut."
"Hey guys!" Arianna's voice yelled.
We turned around and there she was, bouncing up to us. Literally bouncing.
Niall and I exchanged glances.
"Heeeeeeeeeeyyyyyy!" She giggled. "Now that was a workout." Joke mopping her brow as she spoke.
"Where's Demi? Wasn't she in class with you?" Arianna asked
"Yeah, but she left with.. Harlem." Niall said, raising his eyebrow.
"Who's Harlem?"
"Brooklyn's twin brother."
"Oh!.. Harlem" She wiggled her eyebrows.
Niall and I shifted around, feeling uncomfortable though probably for different reasons.
"We should get in, we're already late." I said.
"Yeah, we should." Niall added.
We walked through the double doors and immediately the mixed smell of sweat and Ralph Lauren perfume intoxicated me.
"I'm gonna go and get changed now." Niall said before he disappeared behind a red door.
"Come with me." Arianna directed.
I followed her into one of the girls changing rooms. It wasn't different from the hallways, completely white. Though there were black coat hooks lined up on the back wall and red benches. The room was almost full to the brim with girls. Some fully dressed and others only in their underwear or half of their PE kit.
