Karma's grey fur blew in the wind when she jumped out of her den. "Rage! Common out! It's fine." she barked cheerfully into the darkness of the den. A small voice came from inside, "Do I have to?" Karma rolled her eyes, "Yes you have to!" After a small moment of silence the wolf from inside sighed, "fine." Karma waged her tail as the brown wolf came out.

He looked around, "Wow! You're right. It is nice out here. Oh! Look at all the trees. I didn't know there was this much!" Karma let out a laugh, "I told you! You should've came out the first day!" The brown wolf replied, "Well we where only six months old! I didn't want to go outside!" Karma smiled, "Well now we are one and it is our first day of battle training! You haven't even seen what a river is Rage!" Rage's ears then poked up, "What's a river?" Karma laughed. Then she saw the old leader Heather pad out of his den. He stood at the edge of the cliff waiting for everyone to gather up. Rage padded up next to her, "I wonder what he wants." Karma pushed him a bit till he lost balance, "Well let's go find out! Race you there!"

She ran ahead as Rage was getting up. She heard him shout in the distance, "Common Karma! You suck!" Karma smirked and looked behind her. Rage's eyes were wide for some reason. She tilted her head and sticked out her tongue until she crashed. "Owww!" Karma yelped. She looked up and realized she ran into Akira, a white female wolf.
Akira was only one year older than
her and was the only daughter of Heather. Which meant she was next in line for leader after her father died. Karma stumbled over her words, "S-Sor-Sorry. I uhh... didn't me-mean to cras-- RUN into you." She looked at her paws in shame. She felt fur brush along her pelt. Karma looked up and saw Rage, "Please forgive her. She didn't mean too..." She looked at Akira, "Fine, but don't do it again or your going to have a big punishment!" She flicked her tail to the side but neither Karma or Rage new what she was trying to do.

Akira looked at them again, "I'm trying to signal you away!!!" Karma rolled her eyes and padded off to the side Rage followed her. "She acts like she is already leader!" Karma said as she sat down. "I know it su-" Heather cut him off as he called out to the Pack, "Light Pack! Now that you are gathered below me, we must discuss the recent 'problem' that has been going on. Skull Pack has been stealing prey and attacking wolves at the borders."

He flicked his tail at his mate Dusk, a orange wolf. She was laying down on the side. "Dusk has been attacked at the border and hurt badly. If Akira had not found her then Dusk could of bleed to death. Today, we will have a attack on Skull Pack! Who wants to go? I need 7 wolves." Karma looked around the camp. Fern volunteered, Jay did also, Wren, Pine, Reed, and Summer volunteered also. "Great I need one more wolf." Heather said looking around the camp.

"I will!" Karma shouted as loud as she could. After a bit everyone was looking at her, then they looked at Heather for his response. "Karma, please join me up here." Up there... that's really high. "Y-yes Heather." She said waking up a ramp like pathway. She joined him and he leaned over to whisper something in her ear. "You have no experience in fighting. You know you would be risking your life. Right?" Karma simply nodded. "Ok, are you sure you want to do this? You don't know any battle moves." Karma nodded again. Heather sat back up. "Karma is the 7th wolf to go. Thank you everyone who volunteered! We will leave in 10 minutes !"

She padded down and met Rage. He quickly padded closer to her, "This is not a good idea Karma. What would I do without you if you get hurt? And-" Karma cut off his worries, "I will be fine! Common wanna pick me out a pice of prey?" Rage looked at his paws, "Sure, I guess."

After sharing a rabbit with Rage, Heather gathered all the cats that are willing to go. Then they padded out into the forest. She walked for which felt like forever until everyone stopped. Karma squeezed her way to the front and next to Heater.

"Why did we st-" Karma was cut off by a voice she did not recognize, "Ha! Your letting pups come to battles? Weak! Don't you have any more more full growns??" Karma looked towards the sound and saw a dark black wolf. She crouched down. Heather watched her and replied, "No, we have tons full growns but this pup was brace enough to come with. I don't want to hear your remark Soul, you know what I'm here to do." Soul laughed, "Of course I know. You are here to show us your power and make us feel 'threatened' but I believe you know how it is going to turn out." Souls wolves behind her snarled the other Light Pack wolves.

Soul is the leader of Skull Pack... Maybe if someone gets rid of him... his wolves can have a better leader! Oh, I hope I do good! Heathers words shook Karma out of her thoughts, "Light Pack. ATTACK!" The wolves behind her charged right into battle. She looked up at the battle field where Heather was fighting. Ohhh, I hope he wins. We both have 8 fighters so it should be eve- wait! I'm one on those fighters which means...

Karma yelped as she hit the ground. Claws in her pelt. A wolf was attacking her! She wiggled out of its grip and got a better look at the wolf. It was a peach she wolf, about 2 years older than her maybe. Karma then jumped up onto her back digging her teeth in her scruff. The wolf tried to wiggle free but failed as she went limp and gave up. Karma allowed the wolf to get up. The peach wolf quickly ran off into the forest.

She realized that most of her Pack did the same. It was only her, Jay, Pine, Summer, and Heather. She scanned the battlefield for her next opponent but then realized that it was a even number fighting. She was going over to help Jay until she heard a cry of pain. She looked over and saw it was her leader being held down by Soul. He struggled and then managed to say, "you... win." All of the fighters stepped away and the ones that gave up came back out of the bushes.

Heather struggled to get up and Pine ran over to help him. Karma rushes over the the leader, "We can't just- give up!" She turned to Soul, "Fight me yourself, you stupid prey-stealer!"

Heather gasped for breath, "No! Karma you will get hurt." Soul laughed ignoring Heather, "Ok little pup, I will fight you. But I will fight you to DEATH. Understand! Karma gulped. T-to de-death?! Karma looked at her Pack. They where half starved and covered in scars and scratches.

"Deal!" Karma said confidently. Soul smirked and opened his mouth as if her where to reply but instead her jumped at her. Her eyes widened as she quickly dodged it. She used her front paw to strike him near the nose. Karma scratched him but as she was about to draw her paw back, Soul griped his teeth into her paw. Then he pinned her down ready to use a killing bite.

Karma quickly sliced her claws across his belly and he backed away. Karma picked herself back up, then bared her teeth at him. How can I defeat him? Then she remembered how Akira was bragging about mastering the leap-and-hold. She said it was affective on attackers that are bigger than you. Karma thought back on how it looked when Akira showed it to her.

Karma sprang onto Souls back and griped his fur with her claws. Soul yelped but Karma kept going. She felt Soul try to shake her off but Karma kept a good grip. As he trampled around in a circle. Karma could feel everyone's gaze looking at her.

She heard Reed's cry of joy, "Do it!!" Every wolf knew what she was talking about. All Karma had to do is make a quick and powerful strike to the neck, then she would win. Karma lifted her paw... you will never mess with me or Light Pack again. She hit the back of his neck... and Soul fell to the ground motionless.
