Neha got settled in her new city. She joined a new school to complete her higher secondary education. She had already got new friends and facebook had already started popping notifications in Ashish's account to make him aware about his girlfriend's whereabouts.
He was happy to see her happy but distance creates wedges and there was also a wedge hanging over Ashish's head, which he realized as he scrolled down to a certain pic of Neha with a boy from her new school. The image was intimating but as girls always subdued their boyfriend by telling he is just a 'friend' and 'nothing more' got repeated again and again.

Months passed, late night conversations and staying online for 24 hours got reduced. Neha had developed certain priorities in her new place like joining the dance and yoga classes and etc. Ashish understood her situation, he realised himself that he must also prioritise with certain productive hobbies himself, moreover those were the  career defining times. Seriousness was required but still his heart longed for the message notification which made him wait like for ages. The times of swift conversations were over.
Suddenly there came a day which was completely unexpected but hoped for. Ashish came back from his school to find innumerous missed calls from Neha's number in his cell. He immediately called back.
Ashish: Hey Neha....  What happened,  you alright?
Neha went silent for a long time after delivering a soft hello to Ashish.
Ashish: Neha, you ok?  Say something!
Neha: I am pregnant.
And she burst into tears.

Ashish heard it correctly so didn't waste much time in telling her to repeat back, though he waited for her to low down a little.

Ashish: It's Ishaan right, the boy from your school,  who is just a friend of yours?

Neha: (wiping her tears)  how did you know it?

Now it was Ashish's time to stay silent.

Neha: Ashish...  I am really sorry about what I did to you, but the worse has happened to me. Ishaan ditched me right on the face after hearing the news and there is noone else I can look upto. My parents are going to kill me for this. Please tell me what can I do....  (and went back to her crying)

Ashish: Ok no problem....  I will help you. You need to abort the baby. Though its not a the right decision but in this situation you got to save yourself first. Contact a nearby clinic....

Neha: The money....  I don't have so much money for all this. I am just a school girl right now.
Ashish: Don't take tension regarding the money, I will arrange everything but I need you to make a promise to me.
Neha: Anything....  Say anything....

Ashish: Never repeat what you did again in future.

Neha: I promise, Ashish....  you won't be leaving me right....

Ashish: How can I leave you in such a state of yours, I am not a  monster right.

Neha: I love you so much Ashish....

Ashish: I love you too....  Wait for the next time I contact you regarding your issues.

They hung up. The boy had not even got undressed after his school hours and he stood motionless with an empty mind and a shattered heart. He asked himself how could he be so cool on hearing what Neha said.  He thought all sorts of infidelity regarding the matter and sat down. He took out Neha's photo from his purse and kept looking at it. The unknown essence of unknown desires circled in his mind, but then again getting cheated is also quite unauthentic to take in.
