The aura around the Crystal Empire was always heavily saturated with magical energy, for this reason she was visiting this beautiful city to preform a rather arduous spell. Ever since she was a small foal she looked up to the great sorceress, and now princess, Twilight Sparkle. Bright green flames of magic curled around the spell book as she reread the passage for the ninth time since she arrived at the Empire. Taking in a deep breath of the sweet autumn air and allowing the book to fall to her hooves, she lit her horn with a blinding emerald light. In an instant, two semitransparent Pegasus wings of the same colour appeared on her back. Astonished the spell had worked, she wondered if she ought to tell Music Feather so he may fly along side her so that if the spell were to falter, he would be there to catch her.
"I'll stay close to the ground; I don't need to bother Feather with this..." She reasoned as she spread her wings.
The fading sunlight filtered through the semitransparent surface of her wings, the ground beneath her adorned with the glittering of the pale green light. She backs away from the precipice of the bluff and then all at once begins to run towards it, her large wings powerfully slicing through the air. She is propelled from the dirt below and into the air with a leap from the small cliff, completely ignorant of what she promised she'd do only moments before, she climbed higher and higher into the air. The wind pushing through her chestnut mane and pearly pink coat was a lovely feeling, breaking through the clouds, she took in the beautiful scenery. She was about to make her descent, she approached the ground at a fast pace, she felt a sharp, painful crackling in her horn. In a sudden burst of magical energy, her beautiful wings evaporated, and she plummeted. The drop wasn't all too far, but it was enough to knock her unconscious when she slammed into the dirt. The last thing she heard before she blacked out was the sickening crack of her horn snapping.
