Once I leave the depressing scenery of what has become of my former village, I begin my voyage back into the forest where I once was. Along the path a remembrance of a lake comes across my mind as the sudden urge for water appears in my system. I sigh knowing that it may take awhile to scavenge around desperately for the source of water.

After about an hour or so my esophagus has become dry and clean from any source of saliva and/or water my face scrunches up with worry and desperation as I frantically dart my eyes around from one scenery of trees and grass to another. I never thought that my search for water would extend to this length. The sun that provided me with light and and a proper look at my surroundings was slowly dispersing, becoming less reliable than a mere flashlight. My mind racing, I make an endeavourous attempt to recall where the lake was when I saw it earlier. And almost as if on cue, an image of an enormous willow tree that laid beside a waterhole flashes across my mind. Beside the tree laid a path involving clovers as well as patches of grass with a healthy looking appearance.
A look of realization flashes across my visage as my shoulders relax knowing for certain that I was on the right path. I quicken my pace into a sprint clearly aware that I was merely five minutes away from my destination.
I recognize my surroundings as a good sign that I truly have been heading in the right direction. Not long after did I see the lake and reduce my pace into a light jog. I walk up to the lake, and go down to my knees to quench my thirst in a proper manner.
I dip my hands beneath the water and cup my palms together, when I raise my hands out, I held a reasonable amount of water cupped in. I raise the water to my lips and down the drink in a matter of seconds.
Once my thirst was satisfyingly quenched I gaze down at my reflection that appeared in the lake. Due to the fact that the sun has lowered itself behind the mountains, darkness was beginning to arise and I was able to distinctly see my glowing pupiless turquoise colored eyes. The light illuminating from them because of the darkness was impossible not to notice my unnatural features, I bring my ash colored hand towards my left eye and gingerly rest it just under my bottom eyelid; mouth slightly open, I quietly whisper to myself,
"I really am a monster."
My surroundings have grown completely dark as the moon began to rise in place of the sun. A balmy breeze swept through the trees for a moment. I inhale deeply as I close my eyes quietly enjoying the peaceful silence that had taken over of my surroundings. After a few moments have passed I open my eyes just a bit to look at my reflection once more, all I could see now were two spots of blue light reflecting off the water, I take a deep breath and see my freakishly pearly white teeth in the reflection giving off the impression that they too glowed as well. I shake my head with a sigh disapproving my grotesque appearance.
I hug my knees as I look up at the night sky embellished with stars. I've tried to get help once, I've tried seeing a doctor about my looks, but all I got was a restraining order, whatever the hell that means, as well as death threats and looks of terror as well humans gasping and running away from me. I scoff at the thought, even my damn doctor ran out of the office screaming 'monster' at the top of his lungs.

~A few years ago~
I walk through the town my head held low, back hunched, hands shoved into the pockets of my clothes, attempting to look as inconspicuous as possible as I walked into the hospital's doors and went over to the desks that were placed throughout the whole place,
"Hello! how are you doing today?"
"Fine, thank you." I mumble avoiding the urge to raise my head to look at the woman face-to-face.
