Pearl Harbor....This day will forever scar me. I was sent home with a few vacation days, and decided to take my family to Hawaii. Sammy was so happy, excited to see the dolphins and, Dean was excited just as well. It was around 6:26 Am, and I had started getting everyone up for the best vacation my family was to get. We wanted to start early so we could get everything in one day. Everyone was ready and out the door by around 7am. Time passes, we're out walking on the pier when Sammy hugs me and tells me, "Thank you so much for this bailey! I love you!", before she goes chasing after dean. My pops, mom and I started to talk about my time away from them. Dean then runs up to me and taps my arm, "Bailey! Airplanes!" he said to me as he pointed to the sky following the planes with his finger. He was right, there were airplanes. They were jap planes, everyone knew by the single red dots on them. They started dropping bombs seconds after we noticed them. We stood on the dock, horrified. Bodies and metal already flying like confetti. Explosions happening every second. I froze in shock before I could turn to my parents to tell them to take Sammy and dean as far away as possible. I looked around for Sammy, terrified, I yelled her name so many times with desperation to find her. I tried yelling over the explosions telling pops, "Go! Take mom and dean to the car! Wait for me, I'm going to get Sammy, I'll find her!". I turned away and cupped my hands around my mouth to project my voice while quickly running around the pier. "Sammy!" I yelled and yelled till my voice was sore. My eyes searched everywhere and thank god I found her. Her baby blue dress being blown by the wind of the bombs, her hands grasping her dress with terror. "Bailey!" her soft voice yelled, she stood up throwing her fragile arms reaching out yearning for mine. I could hear a bomb from behind me, I quickly looked over my shoulder and saw it head towards the pier. My eyes widen in shock and I immediately run towards Sammy...but I was too late. The bomb hits the pier and the force of the explosion hits both me and Sammy. She's thrown more than a couple feet away. I've only fallen, but I quickly get up and run towards her. Her blue dress torn and dirty, her white bow undone. "Sammy!" I yell picking her up, turning her over. A piece of metal was in her stomach, and crimson blood was spreading through her perfect blue dress. My eyes welled up, and I slowly took out the piece of metal that pierced her stomach. I shook her gently "Sammy?!". I couldn't think. My sweet Sammy was slowly being taken away from me in my own arms. I picked her up carefully and started running towards the car. My eyes spilling tears and I kept repeating "It's okay Sammy...it's going to be okay Sammy...I love you...you're going to be fine" telling her lies, I knew what was coming. Her eyes opened before I get to the car and her gentle faint voice said "Love you too bailey"and her eyes closed for what was going to be forever. "Sammy?! Sammy?! No! Sammy..." I sob over her as her blood travels through my clothes. I drop to my knees with her in my arms. I pulled her tight and cried into her head. "Sammy!" I yelled over her head. I regained composure for a small bit and thought I have to keep going. When I lifted her frail soon turning cold body, I saw my hands smothered in her blood. I carried her into the car, and tried to stop my tears but it was impossible. As soon as my mother saw Sam, she was sobbing and frequently looked back as if to check if her baby was actually dead. My father's face emotionless. Dean...oh dean, was so confused and just kept crying, he just sat there crying in his hands. The whole car ride was tears except pops, he stayed strong for us.
To this day I still have nightmares of that day. Nightmares of Sammy. Sometimes it'll be a good dream of her, like a replay of a sweet melody memory. Sammy was too young and will always be in my memories and heart.
