That Last Season

2: Summer

It's the start of summer and my first plan for summer will be on the day after tomorrow.

I'm currently reading a book while lying on my bed in this early afternoon when my little sister entered my room.

"Brother," she called. I just continue reading.

"What?" I asked. Still not keeping my attention away from the book.

"Can I come with my friends to go in the beach? It will be on the day after tomorrow," she said. I shut my book and faced her.

"Go ahead," I said.

"Yay! Thank you, brother!" she said with full of excitement.

"But promise me one thing first," I said.

"What is it?" she asked.

"Don't wear swimsuit. No one will be around to protect you from perverts because I will be also with Yuji on the day after tomorrow, too," I said.

"What?! Brother!" she whined.

"No is no. It's for your own good so just listen," I said.

"Hmph! Fine!" she said and stormed out of my room.

I sighed. This is why I hate being strict to her. I have to protect her. Before our mom died, she asked me to protect my little sister no matter what it cost. She said, if I have to be strict, I have to. And because of that, I became one. I know it's not right but I am now the breadwinner. Since our father abandoned us at my young age and my mother died seven years ago, after our uncle died, I became her everything. That is why, I will protect her no matter what it means.

It's early in the morning. Yuji said we'll meet with Shimizu at the airport at exactly seven in the morning to catch our flight to Okinawa at nine in the morning.

"Ikedaaaaaa!" Someone called Yuji from behind.

Yuji and I turned around and surprisingly, Shimizu's with Miyazawa. Her eyes turned big and suddenly, she rushed towards me.

"Why the hell you're here?!" she nagged. I ignored her. Pretending she's not infront me.

"Hi! You're Fujimaki Seiichi, Ikeda's friend, right? Nice to meet you," Shimizu said while reaching out for a handshake.

I accepted her handshake and said, "Yes, I am. It's nice to meet you, too," I smiled.

Miyazawa just kept on talking and nagging about why I am here. I just continue ignoring her.

"Hey guys, come on. We'll be late!" Yuji said as we hurry inside.

"Why are we seated next with each other?!" she whined.

"Who would like to be seated with you, you amazon girl," I said plainly.

"What did you just said?!" she annoyingly shouted.

"Deaf," I whispered to myself just enough for her to hear.

"YOU MONKEY!" she shouted. I just ignored her and closed my eyes. Tsk. Such a scandalous woman.

She just continued being scandalous. I know the people we are with inside this plane lodge is looking at her.

"Hey! Stop ignor---" I pinned her on her seat and covered her mouth with my hand.

"Shut up. You're noisy," I said and seated.

It's a travel of five hours to Okinawa. It would take a while so I guess I must get some sleep.
