Chapter 15

One month later

Cassie’s POV:

It’s the end of September and Roxy, Bay and I are finally all moved in. Even though I really don’t expect Bay to be here long because she’ll probably end up moving in with BK. She spends most of her time there anyway when he’s in town and then she’s on the road with them when she doesn’t have class. I love living with my girl and I love being in Nashville. Roxy and I are working on opening a center for the arts. We will have vocal lessons, dance classes, and music lessons. We have a lot of great teachers so it should be up and running by the spring. It’s going to be great. It’s what Roxy and I always wanted so we can’t wait. The guys have been on the road with Luke and since I’ve been busy I wasn’t able to go with them. I missed both of them but I have a life and I’ve been working with various artists on their albums. I moved to Nashville for work and I can’t throw that away. I get to see the boys when they come back and I have free time to travel with them.  After my performance I gained a lot of followers and I guess my writing and singing wasn’t anonymous anymore.  I have been nominated for awards but I’ve never gone and I’ve never won so it worked out for me. I am getting recognized and asked for pictures and autographs now. I always sarcastically thank he guys but it’s not that big a deal. I’m getting used to it. Award season is coming and they boys have been nominated for a lot I’m so proud of them. I was actually nominated for a CMA and an ACM for song writing. I’m excited but I don’t think I’ll win. Ty says I have to go and be his date.

I’m lying in bed it’s kinda early but I have to go to the studio today and they guys will be coming home tonight so I want to be ready. My phone rang and it was Ty <Good morning beautiful> < Good morning babe, I can’t wait to see you tonight> < I can’t wait either, What are your plans for the day><Um probably breakfast with the girls. Then some writing and I have some things to do at the studio> < That’s good baby girl. I’ll let you go start your day> <Ok babe I love you lots. I’ll text you later> <Sound good sweetheart, I love you more> I hung up with Ty and walked out of my room. The way the house is set up Bay’s room is upstairs and Roxy took the room in the basement. It was a big house so instead of going up and downstairs I grabbed my blow horn and started pressing the button. I knew neither of them could sleep through it. I then put on a pot of coffee since it’s 730 in the morning. Then they both finally came in about 5 minutes later. “Well good morning ladies” “Shut up Cass, I pretty much hate you and can’t wait to move out of this house” “Oh why so dramatic Roxs I made coffee. I know you love me” “These rude awakenings make me want to move in with BK” I laughed “Oh come on Bailey, Living with us is better than living with him.” “That’s debatable.” “Well I was going to take you girls to breakfast but I’ll just go by myself. No Waffle house for you guys.” There mood changed instantly and we went and got ready for breakfast. We got ready fast for us it only took about 30 minutes. We got in my truck and drove to waffle house. “So you guys love me yet” They looked at each other and smiled.“Yeah I guess we do.” “SO what are we going to do for the boys? They will be coming in tonight.” “I don’t know maybe make a dinner for them.” Roxy said “Oh that sounds good. You guys want to come to the studio with me today? Or you guys can take my truck and do something else” “We’ll come with you and watch you work.” We ate and talked a little more Roxy and Bondsy are getting close she stays at his condo when he’s here. So basically when the guys come in Ty and I have a little privacy. We still haven’t done anything and it is killing me but I really want to wait a little while because what we have now is working really well. We only had one fight and it was really stupid and we made up right away.

I drove to the studio and was talking to some of the label execs. I hated this part of my job but its fine. We talked about a couple of my songs and people who wanted to sing them and it was my decision if I wanted them to. I decided on that and then they gave me a list of people that wanted me to look over their songs or co-write songs with them. I was amazed at the number of people who wanted to write with me. “So first since we haven’t seen you in a couple weeks congrats on the nominations but Cassie we have some good news for you.” One of the execs said “Yeah what news could be better than the nominations because that’s kinda epic?” “Yeah it is I guess. But since you don’t really pay attention we wanted to let you know that this year you had 8 songs that charted number one and all of those were number one for multiple weeks.” “Wait really that’s bad ass” I had a huge smile on my face. Bay and Roxy gave me a hug and congratulated me. “That’s not it.” “What more could you possibly tell me today?” “You’ve had more songs that have charted high but not number one.” “Ok. That’s cool. I really never paid attention to that. It’s crazy and I’m at a loss for words.” “Well Cass next month you are being given a Nashville song writers award. It’s going to be full of performance by some of the artist you wrote for and you will need to give a speech and all that” I started to tear up a little bit “This is huge. I write for some amazing artist and they make my songs come to life. Thank you” I think I hugged everyone in the room. Then it was back to work. Seriously today has been crazy I can’t believe what is going on.

“Wow Cass, I’m so proud of you.” ”Thanks Roxy this is crazy. I’ve never thought would be this successful. I had an idea of all the singles but never thought I would be getting this award.” “I’m happy for you Cass. You deserve it because you are amazing” “Thanks Bay. I think I should call Ty and BK. They are going to flip.” “Yeah they are.” I went to take out my phone but in walked a familiar face. I put down my phone and ran up to her and gave her a big hug. “Tay what are you doing here” “Well I was recording and they said you were here so I figure I’d say hi” “It’s been so long since I’ve seen you. What’s new?” “Nothing much just recording some stuff and touring like crazy.” “SO nothing has changed” We both laughed.By this time Bay and Roxy are smiling like fools. “Oh these crazies are my friends Roxy and Bailey. Bailey is BK’s girlfriend. Girls stranger is Taylor Swift.” “It’s nice to meet you guys” “It’s nice to meet you too” They both said acting shy. I’ve really never seen them like this but it was kinda funny. “So Cass you wanna come to the studio with me. I have an idea I want to talk over with you” “Yeah no problem.” We walked over to her studio and she was working on a song and was stuck. So I gave her some ideas. We talked for a while and Bailey and Roxy loosened up. “Damn it.” “What is Cass” “I’m sorry Tay but time got away from us we need to get going because the guys and everyone will be at the house at 7and we need to cook dinner” It was almost 530 now. “OK Cass I’ll see you later. Oh and congrats on your song writer’s award you deserve it. Actually you deserved it years ago.” “You’re too sweet and thank you Tay. You’re welcome to come to dinner if you get out of here at a decent hour.” “I might but I have a date tonight” “Well bring him with you or just call me and we’ll do lunch another time” “Ok I’ll let you know.”  I gave her a hug and the girls and I left to go back to the house. I figured I’d tell BK and Ty when they got back since Tay interrupted.

We got back to the house and decided to make our favorite food which is Italian. We made different types of pasta, chicken parmesan and a huge salad that no one will probably eat. While dinner was cooking we changed. We were going to have the whole band, family and friends over so we straightened up and set up the big table in the dining room. Dinner was almost done and we put everything on the heating racks. Everyone started showing up and I got a text from Ty <We’ll be at the house in 5 minutes> <K baby I can’t wai.t> They don’t know that everyone is here I just told them to bring all the band and crew. I heard the bus pull up.
