I stare at the wall silently. I tilt my head to the side. My eyes are eyes glued to the motel room's faded yellow painted wall, looking as if I am staring at an invisible friend. I am almost certain I see Dean out of the corner of my eye with a freaked out look on his face.
My head jerks in his direction. "What are you looking at?" I raise my eyebrows, feeling my heart pound faster as he stands from the bed and walks over to me. He kneels down in front of me and gives me a concerned look. "Evette, I think you have went insane." He sighs, looking down at the floor a moment.
"I have not!" I shout, balling my fists.
"Really? Ever sense your father passed you have these spells where you stare at random things like you're half way out of it. I don't know what happened when he died, but I'm worried about you..."
My jaw clenches as he speaks, he thinks I'm a psycho. "Dean...you don't know what happened in there, and you'll never know. So let me have my little spells and you go along stuffing your face with pie."
He rolls his eyes and stands up, not saying another word to me as he walks over to his bed and continues eating a pie he'd left there when he came over to me. I've been really jumpy sense my father passed, well, let me tell you the story.
Me, my father, and Sam were all hunting the same monster....something...newer. Something we'd all never heard of before. Though there was a myth on it, no one ever paid much attention to it. It was confusing at first, but my father explained to the both of us that it was called a "Snarler." There wasn't a lot of info about it. All the information we could gather was it's powers and weaknesses. No back story, no nothing, but we knew it was staying in an cave in a wooded area.
I remember us all creeping into the Cave, it had tons of twists and turns and we all knew this wasn't natural, it had to be man made. The "Snarler" had the intelligence of any human with a good education, but they did not look like any human to me. There was only one, and we all guessed it was the last one of it's kind. Not only could it fly, it had super strength, retractable claws, fangs, and could really use any weapon it wanted to, sense it was like a human but...different. It could change people, it just hadn't found who to make the second of it's kind.
We all guessed it was a female, the whites of her eyes were not white, they were black, and her eye color was red. It was strange. Super strange. We'd found her sitting in a chair facing one of the cave walls rocking back and forth. "E-Evie..." The 'monster' stuttered. I almost thought she knew who I was, it was a nickname Sam had given me after all. "Evie..." The monster tilted their head before jerking their head all the way around and becoming...human.
All of us had just stood there in shock. Sam had a gun pointed at her head and so did my father. A silver bullet to the head or heart would surely kill it.
"Who are you?" Sam asked bravely, staring the beautiful woman who was just a monster not five seconds ago.
She was gorgeous as a human, we couldn't really tell what she looked like as a monster but we could tell her skin was a blue tint from the short black dress she was wearing. The woman stood from the chair, her bright blue eyes filled with tears.
"I am Janie." She spoke softly, looking at all of us with a smile. Her smile soon faded as I lifted my own gun up to her. Three of us with a gun up to her? There was no way she'd try killing any of us, right?
Her skin slowly turned blue and her eyes went red and black. "P-Please....I-I didn't ask to be this way....I-I used to be a hunter...l-like you guys." Her ruby red lips turned into a frown.
Sam glanced over at me a moment before looking back. "Who's Evie?" He stared at her, not looking away once.
"It-It...It was my daughter's name..." She whimpered, looking over at my father. He stared at her, his jaw dropping.
