I woke up to my alarm blasting The Fray- How To Save a Life. The sun shining through the windows in my room. I reach my hand over and turn off my alarm; I sit up quickly and make my way downstairs. Has always my mom is at work and my dad... will I don't know where he is. I haven't seen him since that awful accident happen. I shake my head to get the image out of my head. When I walk to the kitchen I see a note

I will be gone for the next month. Your 18, I trust you enough to leave you alone at home. I already got all your school stuff ready. You just have to show up. It's your first year in college sweetie! Have fun!

I put the note back down and race to the oven where my mom left me pizza, pizza is my favorite food, I grab the box and head to the living room. I turn on the TV to watch full house. My mom and I just moved from Alabama to California. Talk about change! I don't know anyone from here. So basically I have no friends... great way to start the year. We start school next week... just my luck. I am a straight A student with a great chance in an internship here in California. I don't really have a "life" I don't party or drink or date. I study, study, and I often go to yoga. It's not that I am lame or ugly it's just that I don't really want to do it.

My phone rings breaking me from my train of thought.

Nina- hello

???- NINA!

Nina- Oh hey Zack!

Zack- How is it in Cali?

Nina- Boring as hell

Zack- Haha missing old Alabama

Nina- NO! Not at all! Haha but I do miss you guys!

Zack- I know we miss you too!

Nina- So what you doing?

Zack- About to go eat with the family. You know the usually.

Nina- Oh, okay! Well I will talk to you later!

I hang up my phone and throw it on the couch. I really need to do something, for once. With that I run up stairs, take a shower, washing my hair... I might as well. I then put on my black tights and a basket ball jersey for my favorite team the Heat. I grab my phone from downstairs and my keys and hop in to my car. The car starts with a loud roar and I'm out the drive through. It's around 5 now since I woke up at like 1 o'clock. But it's not that dark so it won't be so bad if I take a walk right? I park my car in the park parking lot. And hop out. I look around for a minute and then start to walk. I have walked for about an hour and a half and I'm completely lost! Ugh... I find my way to a street and find a bar close by. I step in and smell smoke. I don't know what I thought I was going to smell but I have never been in a bar. I sit in a corner and type my address into my GPS. Once it pulls up I stand up and walk to the door. Without looking I accidently walk right into a group of guys. I fall back, my hands catching me. I look up to see 3 boys looking at me. I look down and hop to my feet.

"I'm so-rry" I say. You can tell I'm scared, great, and just great! One of the boys laughs and turns to me.

"Get out our way, little girl" the one with brown curly hair says

"I'm not little!" I fire back! I hate when people think little of me!

"Oh, does the little girl have something to say" he steps closer

"Yea! I actually do! There is no reason for you to be rude! I said sorry and you should be a gentleman and said no it my fault at least" I say angry in my voice

They all laugh "you are not from here so I will let you off easily" he said in between laughs "but if you every cross my path again it won't be pretty" he snaps. His eyes staring into mine while he spoke.

Before I knew what I was doing... I slapped him!
