The Only Reason// a.i au

My converse clad feet shuffled in time with Sophies pink and purple vans. She was going on about something, i wasn't listening at all. As she was in mid sentence she squealed and ran towards someone.

Ashton Irwin.

Ashton was Sophies first serious boyfriend, since we started high school. They were the 'Power Couple' as people like to say. And i, myself, had to agree.

Sophie was flawlessly beautiful, only ever having a tiny bit of mascara and lip gloss on. Captain of the Cheer team. Captain of the student council and head president of the events that occurred in the school. She was also Co-Captain of the girls soccor team, Ashlie Darden, being the Captain.

Ashton was absolutely mind blowingly handsome i dont even think God could believe he was existing. Like Soph, he was Captain of the soccor team, along with his best mates Luke Hemmings and Michael Clifford. School captain, so he has to make sure everyone and everything are treated with respect, along side his co-captain Calum Hood. And over all he was an amazing human being.

And me well thats another story. I was the nerdy, straight A student, who didnt do any sports whatsoever, listen to weird bands and music, and im also known as the freak. Sometimes I question why Sophie even bothers to be friends with me, but i never speak up.

I sighed as I sluggishly walked over to my best friend, who was currently happily chirping about the new cheer routine they had learnt, into Ashtons ear. My heart instantly melted at the way he was concentrating on every single movement and word that came out of her mouth. That was love.

Me being the shy person i am I gently tapped Soph on the shoulder, making her spin around quickly. "Hey babes, whats up?" A bright smile lit across her face as she studied me. She has got to be the kindest human in the whole of society. My brain was on a drive of sadness, knowning some day, she will no longer be there for me. I pushed that aside and carried on my previous action.

"Hey, yeah um, i was just going to head of to form now, so yeah, okay. I will see you in Maths. Bye" i tripped over my words awkwardly, and my cheeks turned a light red from embarrassment. Sophie delicatly kissed both of my cheeks and bid me a goodbye as i walked away, smiling to myself.

She was the only reason why i even lived anymore.
