Okay I'm new to this but i really tried so please enjoy. Pick of Nial ˆ

In the quiet town of Tallyfeild not much goes on. Just a normal small town nothing to do. Or so everyone one thought. That was until December 12 at 8:00 pm give or take. Something happened that no none would ever guess. December 12 was the day everything changed we all realized this quite innocent town wasn't so quiet or innocent. That day two love birds went down to the old stair case where everyone hooked up at. Rumor had it that way back a couple went there and jumped and they survived. They say if you jump off with your lover you will stay together forever. Unfortunately that's not what happened.

Grace Simons and Tylor Dobson went there the night of December 12. They had planned to jump off or its what they say. They 'jumped' and Tylor made it down but what happened is still a mystery. Tylor couldn't find Grace he looked and looked. She was gone. Some say she's dead other said they could've sworn they saw her after she went missing. Everyone said he looked in the woods for her or that's what they want you to believe. People have said something or someone dragged him there and killed him on the spot. Covering all the tracks. No sign of Grace and Tylor's unexpected departing with no tracks.

After that day Tallyfeild wasn't the same. No one was trusted everyone was guilty until Tylor's autopsy results next week. At school no one new what to do Graces sister had breakdowns every class she hasn't been back since. Some people said that she went crazy and had to go to group home but that could be a rumor too. They announced a memorial for Grace and Tylor. Everyone was clueless just waiting for the results so they could start erupting with new rumors. That's all this school is good for anyway just rumors.

As for me I was the quiet type just the weirdo writing the stories they call me Alex. If I'm being honest I think I'm doing better then the cops. Proof I know a whole lot more then they do. You thought that was the story oh no Im just getting started now the real thriller starts.

The next day at school my research needed to be found. So like always I stayed in the corners listening for any news. The day was slow until I heard one faithful thing. It was 5th period Mr. Jacksons was blabbering about the human body or something. That's when I heard my first clue, "What if someone finds out we were there?" it was a female voice. I couldn't really make out who's. "Nial if someone were to find out we were there that night we would be in big trouble so please keep it a secret, our secret, okay?"

Nial Harvey as in the quarterback knows something that could help me. Right after class I darted to Nial's locker leaving him a little note 'meet me in the gym or Ill tell your secret.' Do I really know the secret. Nope but if its that big he'll come.

The gym was dead quiet until the doors creaked open. There stood my first clue Nial Harvey. He looked around a little hesitantly. I stepped out in front of him which made him jump. He looked like a deer in headlights. The silence was so thick it could kill. I finally decided to break it. "Hey old friend long time no see." His face stayed blank then I pulled out a chair and took a seat. "I think you have some explaining to do, because I know all about your little secret."

Nial's face lost all color. He looked as if he just saw a ghost. Just with expression he showed I knew something was up. How could I not he use to be my best friend. Yes the Nial Harvey and I use to be the best buds. He stopped texting and talking to me after summer break. Then when school started he stayed with jocks and every time I tried to talk to him he avoided me. Even if this so called 'secret' cant help me with the deaths it might just tell me why I lost my best friend.

Nial didn't move an inch just stayed there staring right at me. Right when I was going to break the silence he spoke up. "What all do you know, huh?" His voice was shaky and deeper then what I remembered. I really didn't know anything just that he had a secret that I needed to know. My best bet was to lie to get everything out of him.

"I know enough, but you might want to explain that conversation in the hallway earlier today that I so happened to hear with your good friend." Not to pat myself on the back, but I sure did know how to lie like a pro. Not sure if that's a good thing. His eyes darted from me to the door. He looked like a scared puppy
trembling like that. His raven black hair was in his face covering his eyes from looking at me. He was stalling it was so obvious. " Well if you're not going to tell me I guess I'll just write it in the school news paper." I got up and headed towards the door. Please say something.

"No stop I'll tell you what you want to know just please don't say anything about me and Rachel." My mind couldn't believe it. I didn't know what to say.

"Rachel!?" I screamed not believing it. His eyes got big and he covered my mouth. I instantly got out of his grip and backed up almost falling over my chair. " Rachel as in your dads wife and your stepmom?" Rachel has been Nial's stepmom since this summer after they got married. " For how long?"

He sat down and put his head in his hands. This couldn't be the Nial I knew. The Nial I knew was supposed to be with Maggie our friend since 1st grade. Nial is supposed to be Mr. Perfect the best quarterback the guy everyone loves. "This summer, it happened this summer." His voice was raspy, "Right before our families were supposed to go on the trip." So that's the reason. That's why he never wanted to talk to me. So he didn't know anything about the deaths, but he gave me the reason to why he hasn't been the same. Just when I was about to say bye he kept going. "We were there Alex me and Rachel were there that night."

There was so much going on but I needed my story. "That night that was the night of the deaths right?" I asked trying to be as nice as I could be. Nial shook his head as in telling me yes but his expression looked if he was ashamed. " I need you to tell me everything you heard saw just everything." We sat there for a hour or two. He told me everything. From what he told me it wasn't a animal that killed Tylor it was a person and that person had a gun. " why haven't you told someone Nial?"

"Rachel doesn't want to get caught trust me I wanted to tell someone what we heard." You could hear his voice crack. Part of me wanted to comfort him. All of a sudden he looked at me with a nasty glare. "If you tell anyone about me and Rachel I swear I'll-"

"you'll what she's just getting you in trouble she doesn't love you Nial she just doesn't want to get caught," my voice was rising, " I'll keep it hidden for as long as I can but if it comes up there's nothing I can do just remember that." With that I walked out leaving my new old friend behind me.

As I walked down the halls so many thoughts were coursing through me. How could all this happen? What if I find out before the cops? Would I tell them? Everything was spiraling out of control. I couldn't stop here though. There was so much to find out. So many suspects and so much to learn. There had to be more suspects. Someone else had to have heard the gun shot. The weird thing is the cops haven't even said anything about a gun shot wound. Tallyfeild had so many secrets that I needed to know.
