I was standing outside the school waiting for my twin Keiko. Geez, how long is she going to be? I glanced at my watch- 2:45. I excused my self from class early because I said I was sick- which, of course is not true. Maybe I should go home before her, I wondered. Seems like a good idea. I began to walk along the pavement and I stopped for a moment remembering what happened last week.

That day I was in the shower scrubbing my back and pouring water over myself. After a couple of minutes of drying myself I walked to my bed and turned towards my mirror to look at myself. I studied myself carefully and turned around. I gasped at the sudden sight. There on the right side of my pale back was a black tattoo- no, not a tattoo but a mark in the form of a crystal with branches growing out of the sides glowing lilac. That day I was so shocked for a second I decided to tell my Keiko about it but I hesitated, wondering if I should tell my mother first but at the end I made up my mind about not telling either of them. At first I felt bad for not telling Emma because we tell each other mostly everything.

Did I just hear footsteps behind me? Nah, it's probably just the wind. I walked past the old pub I see every day and the footsteps got closer and closer. I bent down pretending to do my laces. As I got up I was covered from my mouth by a large muscular hand and head locked by the same person. My vision started to blur but I could at least see who was standing in front of me. A large muscular man with shaved hair and beard wearing a white dirty vest and carrying beer. I was guessing he was the ring leader although there were a couple of others too. They all seemed like they were drunk and to add it up they were all smoking marijuana.

Nasty! I was struggling to breath but I was surprised to see the man loosen his grip. I screamed for help and all of them seemed surprised but again the smoking tall man covered my mouth. They started to laugh and lift my shirt up till my neck but they gasped as they saw the mark that was on my pale, small back.

"Is that a tattoo, babes or a birth mark?" said a scruffy looking tramp with a surprised face.

"It's none of your business so y'all can turn around and go back to your cardboard box," I said as I tilted my head up high to show them no fear.

"She's a cocky one ain't she" Baldy said looking rather angry.

"I hope your siblings' ain't nothing like you," growled the tramp.

"Nah," said a tall man as he smirked, "They're probably worse." That sent them all laughing but for me it raised up my anger to maximum.

I screamed as loud as I could, hoping to get help but that cracked them up even more. From the corner of my eye, I saw a statue of a lion fly up high towards our direction and suddenly came crashing down. I didn't pay attention to what happened to the ring leader but instead I had this funny feeling that I made it happen so I focused on a couple of advertisement papers and thought of what the smoking posse said

earlier about my siblings being worse than me and amazingly it flew up and floated in the air to a park nearby the bus stop.

At that moment I discovered something- not only do I have a strange mark on my back but I also have the ability to move things around with my mind. Wow, that's pretty awesome, that. After I got over my excitement I looked down to see the leader slumped on the ground, his head was cracked open and blood was pouring out. I didn't need to be told, I knew I was the killer and from that moment I regretted I ever had my mark. It truly was a curse as well as my gift. The rest of the gang ran away when they saw what happened to their leader, whimpering. Far away, I heard sirens coming to my direction.

Polices and forensics started to arrive but I stayed where I was unable to move. A Woman in a police uniform walked to my direction. At that precise moment I wanted to run away but the policewomen would obviously think I am guilty and come after me so I stayed where I was.
