Chapter Two: Iced Carmel Latte

June 2nd, 2015

I walk into Starbucks and see david sitting in the far right corner of the Starbucks. I mouth "Hey" to him and go in line.

"I'm sorry Ma'am, We are out of Iced Carmel Coffees. Can I recommend an Iced Vanilla Latte?" I'm really picky so I don't order anything. I go to find david. I sit down and open my laptop.

"You didn't get anything?" I nod my head no without looking up from my laptop.

"Why?" I answer with the same answer the barista had but I said it with annoyance in my voice. Before I knew it david was pulling me out the door.

"Where's the nearest Starbucks?" David said excitedly.

"Ummmm..."I search one up on my phone and david drives there fast.

"What about my car??" He pshhh. We drive about 30 min to nearest Starbucks. I still have no idea what we are doing. He could be kidnapping me for all I know. We arrive at the Starbucks and he tells me why we are here. "The princess must get her Carmel.. what is it called? Oh yea! Iced Carmel Latte!" He said sarcastically. We both laugh and order our drinks.

"That will be 8:76." The barista says. I take out my wallet and pull out some cash.

"No,No! I'll pay." David quickly swiped his card pulls me away before I could leave a tip. "Why did you pay?" I ask.

"A woman never pays on the first date!" Wait... this is a DATE?! OMG omg I'm hyperventilating. He just said date?!! Ok Liza act cool. I should have known not to do that. Again I lean against our table, and fall this time hitting my head on the way down.

"Omg! Liza? Are you ok??" He says again very caring. We both just laugh it off, sit down and drink our drinks.

"Thanks for this." I say again trying to be my self. Cause we all know trying to be cool fails, miserably.

David and I have been best friends ever since Mr. R assigned us together. If you where wondering. Yes we got an A on the project! David helped me clean my car but as our bond gets stronger it just gets messier and messier. I know David and I are just friends but I feel like I have feelings for him. I called my mom earlier and told her all about my new friend david. She seems to like him. She thinks I'm gonna date him soon but I told her, like I've said in the past, I don't need a boyfriend to interfere with my school work.

Yeah I still talk to Gabbie. She started dating her 'long lost love from kindergarten' ,Zane, a while ago. Don't get me wrong I love Gabbie, but she moves to fast when it comes to relationships.

HONK! HONK! Oops. The light turned green a while ago. Right now I'm driving over to Davids to meet some of his friends.

I park my car, grab my purse, and lock the car. I scan my card because david just got me my own,  cause I come over so much. When I get on his floor I walk to his room and search for my key to his place in my purse. Crap. I must have left at my apartment. I knock on the door and david answers.

"Hey! Why didn't you use your key?" I tell him why and give him a hug. He pulls me inside and tells me how excited he his for me to meet his friends. I look around and see one familiar face. Gabbie! Thank god she's here. I'm still very anti-social.

"Ok Liza, This is Heath" he points at a guy that looks much older than me or david, then again they all look pretty old. "This is Zane" He points to a guy that I kinda recognize. He looks our age! What did he say his name was? Zane! Zane! That's Gabbie's 'long lost love from kindergarten' "This is Scotty" he points a a red headed much older male cuddling with a girl. "And that's Kristen, Scotty's girlfriend." She seemed nice. After david introduced me to a bunch more people he pulled me aside to his room.

"Um... Liza. I know you've said multiple time that you don't want a boyfriend. And I understand why you would say no, we've already been on a couple dates... would you do the honor of being my girlfriend? Oh and I got you a Iced Carmel Latte!" I can tell he threw in that last part to make it seem more causal. It took me a while to process what was happening. He was right I didn't want a boyfriend but how could I turn down, david? Who doesn't want to date their best friend? So with out hesitation.

"YES!" He had a shocked look on his face and it quickly faded into that heart melting smile. We go into a hug at the same time. That's when I realized we've been in here to long, people will take it the wrong way. David goes back out to tell his friends and I text Gabbie and my new friend Kristen to come in so I can spill the news.
