Greg sat in the darkly lit bar. He had never been here before nor was he sure he would ever come again. When insomnia had hit him again tonight instead of pacing his floors he decided to pull on a coat and take a walk. He happened upon this bar, he had never noticed it before but the music and the friendly atmosphere had drawn him in. He now sat at the bar sipping scotch and surveying his surroundings. he felt comfortable here. He motioned to the bar tender for a refill just as a lady sat down next to him. Her face held a grin, she turned to Greg and spoke. "Never seen you here before." She said. "Never been here before" he replied he was purposely short with her. He had no tolerance for women who threw themselves at the first man they saw. "And why is that?" She asked. He took a deep breath and cleared his throat "Look lady," He said. "I'm sure your very nice but I'm honestly not looking for any company tonight, Could you please just let me sit here alone?" She spit at him and left the bar stool. He wiped the spit from his face and pulled out his wallet. He pulled a twenty from his wallet, placed it on the bar and walked to the bathroom. After using the restroom he walked outside.
The air outside seemed to have taken on a crisper feel. He pulled his coat around him and started to walk in the direction of his home. He was sure the booze had eased him enough to sleep now. He heard a sound from the alley behind the bar. It was no ordinary sound. It was a sound that sent chills through his whole body and it was much more than the chilly weather. He slowly made his way down the alley. A man sat there, to his left lay a woman. He recognized her instantly from the bar. The one he had just told to kiss off. Her blonde hair lay in a pool of blood turning it a dark red. Greg realized what he heard was her stifled scream and then her body hitting the ground. The man that sat next to her simply looked up at Greg now with no expression at all. Another chill went through Greg's body. The man rose and the Greg tried to run but it was to late now. Darkness crashed down around him. The last thing he saw was the moonlight in the sky and then he saw nothing at all.
