That's a picture of Kai :)

"Hey, guys!" I chimed happily. My best friends, Dane, Will, and Andrew drew closer as they fist bumped me and smiled. These three were like my brothers. They got me through school and helped me when wacko girls would approach me, asking for my number or to go out. I smiled at those memories. They were like a polished piece of metal in a junk yard.

Strolling into Chanston high, I had a goofy grin on my face. All those memories will always be with me, and I couldn't be more thankful for them. As soon as Will pushed open the door, the hallways went silent as all the girls turned their heads and whispered to each other. This was like the usual. Dane, he was the class clown. He didn't care what anyone thought and that's what I admired about him. Will was super chill. He always went along with things, and was the sweet one in our group. Andrew was the complete heart throb. Everybody loved him for his perfect eyes, jawline, and body. He played baseball, was the captain, scored perfect grades, and had an amazing life. Though, he had set high standards for a girlfriend. He didn't date anyone unless they met those standards.

And then, there was me.

I had green eyes, and black hair. I was athletic, tall, and lanky, but still able to pack a punch if anyone messed with me. I've never dated anyone because of Danes stories about how crazy girls can be sometimes. But I never really talked about my feelings like the others did. I closed up, focused on grades and my few close friends. As I was told, many people had a crush on me. But I just kept my head down and focused. I knew that if I focused on a girl, my heart would get broken like Dad's did. Sure, it wasn't his fault Mom died of cancer when I was young. But he could've done something...right?

No, I wasn't odd. I didn't have my strange addictions. I was just mysterious and quiet. So that's why people didn't flock me when we walked through the halls. Just my friends.

"Dane! Dane can I get a picture with you!"

"Andrew you're sooo hot!"

Will turned and winked to a girl who was gawking over him. She fell over.

The comments kept continuing like this, except no one said anyone to me. Then, Dane nudged me.

"Kai, look! It's your girl, dude!" I groaned and covered my face. Her name was Emily. She was tall, blond, and gorgeous. She had an amazing body, but a perfect heart as well. Her smile melted me, and the way her eyes danced under the sun made me smirk. I looked over at her, only to see she was staring directly back at me. I smirked and winked at her, running a hand through my hair as I did so. She giggled, blushed, and turned back to her friends.

"Why don't you just go ask her out already, dude?" Andrew snarled. He has had a crush on Emily for the longest time. She was by far the most perfect girl in school, and they were simply made for each other. I obviously didn't want to interfere with that. But something about breaking the rules...intrigued me.

"Because. I'm not interested in girls." I scoffed. "Just go ask her out yourself. She couldn't say no to the most perfect guy in school, could she?" I taunted.

"I'll make a bet with you." He stopped in the hallway and turned to me.

"Let me hear it." I challenged.

"If I ask her out and she says yes, we're going to your house after school and looking through your dad's diary we found behind the stones at the back of your house. Got it?"

Oh yeah. That one. It was dusty, and old, with a gold trim around it that seemed to be the only alive, shining part in the whole book. When we were young, we found it trying to climb the stone wall behind my house. When I had grabbed the stone as a hold, it fell, and the diary came tumbling down with it. I discarded the book because (1) I was scared to open it. It seriously freaked me out. And (2) I didn't actually know it was my Dads. We simply assumed.
