With the way their call ended, Taylor knew that something bad had happened, and that in involved Nathan. Hearing the panic in Ezra's voice hadn't helped any. Not really caring about what Ashley's reaction would be to him leaving, he ran up the stairs to pack up a bag or two, calling Isaac to let him know there was an emergency he had to take care of. Ashley waited for him to hang up before asking what was going on. She had followed him up the stairs, curiousity filling her.
He explained to her the brief conversation with Ezra, and how it had ended.
" That doesn't sound good at all. It actually reminds me of something I went through before I officially broke it off with Christopher's father." Ashley told him, sitting on the edge of the bed. " I really hope that's not the case for her."
" Whatever the problem is, I need to go to her and my kids. They need me." He grabbed a few shirts and put them into a suitcase " I promise I will be back soon. Just take care of yourself and the kids. Don't tell them anything. I don't want them to worry when we aren't sure of what is going on."
Ashley nodded, agreeing with him. She knew they would think the worst if she told them anything. " Just be careful. If Nathan is being the prick I think he is, he could be dangerous."
He finished packing up and kissed her softly on the lips. " I love you, Ashley. Thanks for understanding why I have to leave."
" Just go and make sure they are safe." She kissed him back. " I love you too by the way."
He kissed her one more time, and grabbing his suitcase he headed down the stairs and out the door. He took the first flight out to Georgia that he could, and landed there late in the afternoon. It wasn't until around 5:30 that he made it to Natalie's house. When he realized that no one was there, he bagan to panic. He took out his cell phone and called her, but she didn't pick up. Calling her parents, he checked to see if her and the kids were there, but they weren't.
One of the neighbor's saw himm out there panicking and called out to him. " Some guy showed up earlier and as you can see busted his way inside. But they made it out and are across the street."
" Thank you so much." He called back, and ran across the street after looking both ways. He knocked on the door and seconds later someone let him in. The woman who answered the door appeared to be in her forties. She had dark blonde hair and brown eyes. Standing about 5"5, she looked up at him in shock. He tried to smile, but he was just so worried about his kids. " Hi. I was told that my ex wife and my kids are over here. I don't suppose I could see them, could I?" He asked.
" Of course. But how did you know to come here?" She let him all the way in, and closed the door quickly behind him. " She told me the last thing she wanted was for you to become involved."
" Well, that's just too bad. As far as I am concerned, whatever is going on around here does involve me. Those are..."
" I agree, Taylor." She interrupted him. " My name is Catherine by the way."
" Hello Catherine. Could you take me to my family please?"
With a nod, she led him into the kitchen where her husband sat with Natalie and the kids. The moment that the kids saw him, they ran straight to him and threw their arms around him. He hugged them back tightly. "What happened earlier? What did Nathan do to you guy's?"
" He did nothing to us, daddy. But he tried to hurt mommy." Wilhelmina told him. " Ezra told me he stopped him though, and then mommy knocked him out and brought us over here."
Natalie looked at him in surprise. " Taylor, I..."
" You had no right to put our kids in danger like this, Natalie. How could you take off with them if you knew Nathan was dangerous. You could have come to me." He snapped at her.
" I thought I was protecting them! I had no idea he would follow me here." Natalie snapped back.
" Please don't fight in front of your kids. They don't really need to hear it, and quite honestly we don't either." Catherine told them. " Now I insist you join us for dinner, Taylor. You must be hungry after all that traveling."
He nodded, and sat down at the table. " Thank you. That would be great."
