Chapter 3

Bills POV

"Really? You can do that?!" I nodded.
"But it's hard, kinda like, if you come in contact with any large source of water, a tail will sprout, and with you being a captain might be hard."
He still kept his smile a bit.
"So if I touch water my tail goes poof?"
"Not exactly" he was still very confused, it was quite adorable.
"If you get water like a glass spilled on you, you'll be fine, or if you wash your hands, but if you do something like bathe, that's when your tail goes poof, along with swimming." He looked like he was fine with it all.
"But" his face grew slightly worried.
"Any contact, and I mean any! Like literally a drop of sea water, your tail will come without any hesitation. And sense your constantly being sprayed with the oceans water on your ship it's really risky..." there was silence for minutes, his eyes still sparkles like when I first met him on the day of that storm.
"I want to do it." I was shocked at his response. My fins perked up and my eyes widened.
"Are you sure?" He nodded and looked serious.
I took a deep breath, the air was filled with salt and fresh pine.
"Alright, in going to gather ingredients. We'll meet back here tomorrow at 4am, got it?" He nodded.
"Alright, see you." I was about to dive in the water before he grabbed my arm.
"Bill wait." I turned my head.

"Uh... thanks..." I said hugging back slowly.
He grabbed the necklace and held it tight. I did the same and held onto the bandana.
"Same time tomorrow" we said in unity before he ran off and I dove into the water.

I did flips in the water and squealed, I stopped in my tracks and froze.
"What the hell did I just do?" I said quietly to myself. I shrugged and swam gracefully in the water.

Dippers POV

I ran to the camp and saw everyone getting ready for bed.
"Bro bro come sleep ok?" Mabel patted my spot next to the fire and I lied down, I barely got any sleep, I eventually did, I woke up and it was still night, I grabbed the pocket watch from Stan and saw the time 3:53am.
"I should go now..." I thought and snuck away.
Swiftly moving through the trees and bushes I made it back to the beach and leaped into the sand.
I ran as I saw his head poke out the water. I kneeled down and looked at him.
"Did they see you?" Bill whispered.
"No I don't think so, do you grab everything?"

Bill's POV

"Yes...are you sure about this...?" I floated in the water, he nodded almost immediately.

"Alright, step in the water and we can begin." As soon as he was about to step in the water I felt a sharp pain in my shoulder, my eyes widened and I screamed in pain.
Dipper looked scared.
Someone shot me.
There's a harpoon in my shoulder.

"DIPPER GET AWAY FROM THAT THING!" I started to hearing and only heard ringing. Dipper looked blurry and I saw a man with glasses standing at the far end of the beach, he was running towards Dipper.
I felt my body being picked up out of the water.
"Was I being taken by this old guy?" Was filling my thoughts as the blood trickled and pour down my arm.
No, I was being carried back into the water, Dipper was carrying me.
I suddenly was dunked into the water after seeing Dipper holding his breath.
"D-Dipper no..." I spat out the words
Without hesitation he took the small bottle from my hand and drank all of it,
I saw the old man try to leap in the water, but for some reason he stopped and swam up, he was out of breath.

Why wasn't Dipper swimming up...?
I thought he was drowning again.
"Dipper...you need air..." the potion wasn't working yet and he became slower and started to choke.
"D-Dipper! Air-r!" He stopped and covered his mouth.
I brought him into another kiss to give him more oxygen, but right when I did he suddenly sprouted his tail.
It was bright blue and his ears were replaced with blue fins. The sparkled brightly like the sky on a beautiful morning.
I didn't know he did and kept kissing him trying to give him oxygen, until I felt his soft tail brush against me.
"U-uh..." his face grew red and I pulled back.
"It worked!" I said happily, before I knew it the water around us was red and the pain hit me.
"S-shit..." I felt the harpoon stuck in my arm.
"It's the tip. It shot right through you..." he swam back to me looking at it through the back of my shoulder.
"I can't pull it out...I have to push it all the way out..."
I felt my eyes swell up with tears.
"Ok...1...2..3!" He rested his hand on my back and pushed with the other. Pain shot through my body as I widened my eyes and shot out a scream, tears flowed threw the water in small bubbles and not long after Dipper brought me into a tight hug.
"It's ok... it's out..." I stuttered a few more screams of pain then closed my eyes.
There was an angry old man,

A cute merman,

And a giant whole in my shoulder I'm dealing with.

Oh fun, Dipper had asked me if I was ok, as he was the hole was very slowly closing up. I couldn't speak, the pain was just to painful.
The hole did close, but I still felt the pain. Luckily that when away too.
We sat there floating in the dark water that was illuminated by my tail.
"Why doesn't mine do that?" He questioned looking at his own.
"I know why, but it's weird"
"What is it?" I hesitated, would he be scared? I don't think so, I've already done this to him anyways. Ok here we go.
"I'm not abnormal siren..."
"Yea I already kno-"
"I'm not have human half fish all that bullshit, I'm part fish, mostly demon." He looked a little confused.
"I mean I took this form because it's easier to maintain, my other forms well you kinda saw what happened with the human form."
He stayed silent and I began to worry.
I looked away knowing he was uncomfortable with the truth.
"B-Bill..." I quickly turned and began to swam away.
I felt hurt, not in the shoulder, but somewhere else, my chest maybe? I wanted to scream and be alone, yet at the same time I just wanted to be with pine tree.
"Bill!" He shouted but I started to swim faster.
My heart was pounding through my chest I could hear it through my fin ears.
I felt his arm grab my shoulder and turn me.
His eyes glowed with fury and bright blue aura.
"What..." I grunted.
"What the hell?! Why are you runn- swimming away?!"
I couldn't speak and felt a lump in my throat.
"I-y-yo-" he sighed angrily and took a deep breath.
"Alright..." his soft soothing voice returned,
"Let's just enjoy ourselves for know until I have to go back...ok?" I nodded and felt as if the weight was taken off my back.
We swam for a while as my tail lit the way for us.
"So, why doesn't mine do that?"
I stopped and stared at him for a while, I know why, I know how to give it to him, but I don't want to well do it.
"Well do want it? Like the tail glow thing" his out of this world smile grew as he stopped.
"Yea!" I felt nervous.
You see for such a lonely type of creature, sirens usually transfer with things like sex, kisses, etc. and for a siren to make some human a merman you can't just do a normal kiss or peck, our fucking love terms insist we have a 'passionate' kiss blah blah blah bullshit.
"Y-you really don't need it I mean..." He grabbed my shoulders and smiled.
"I want it then!" I wanted to give it to him to, but I didn't want to at the same time!
I turned my back towards him and floated there peacefully for a second or two.
"Bill...?" I sat there for another second before quickly turning around, grabbing his shoulders, shutting my eyes tightly closed, and bringing him into a kiss.
I felt his body tense up but soon relax and loosen up.
"K-kiss b-back..." I mumbled, Its the only way for it to work! I swear I'm not lying!!!
I think he eventually caught on and kissed back.

That or he likes me.

He pulled away with his face a bright red and his breathing fast.
I looked away from him also red.
"Uh..." he spat out.
"It's the only way for it to work..."
He grew even more red.
"O-oh..."

WHAT?! So you're telling me that he didn't catch on?!

So...does he like me...?
Not that I have a problem with that.

"Yea, it's the only way." He grew slightly disappointed.
"So who gave you yours?" What? Why does he care?
"Nah, like I said, I'm special I was born with mine."
He then looked relieved.
I grabbed his hand and swam up above the water.
"The sun is coming up." The sad look on his face as he said that.
"Yea, you should head back now before others awake." He looked downwards at his tail then at my hand that was still holding on to his.
"...Can...Can I not just stay with you and swim forever?" He looked at me with eyes that held onto sadness, they weren't as bright as they used to be when he was happy.

"No... they're your family, you gotta go back..." He looked back downwards then at the necklace and grabbed it.
"Alright... I'll come back I promise..." his smile looked forced along with his cheery voice.
We swam towards the shore and I floated starring at him as he got back up with legs.
"Where are my clothes?!" He said embarrassed.
"I forgot to tell you about that... here" I snapped my fingers causing some new clothes to show back on him.
"T-thanks..." I nodded and said goodbye.
