People say: "Love is blind."
Oh, it's much more than blind. I believe you could add mute and deaf to the quote as well, giving it the real definition.
Have you ever thought that one day you will be gone, out of reach of her, on the other side of life? Can you die without any regrets, unfulfilled the things you want to tell the person you so madly love?
Can you leave without telling her goodbye or that you love her?
I never thought my life on this Earth would end so fast. Yet here I am, staring up at my car's ceiling, life pulled from my chest, heart soon to be stopping.
Bump, bump bump, bump.
The sound of my heart beating in odd rhythm echoes, ears buzzing, breathing ragged. I can't feel pain, I can't feel anything. I close my eyes, trying to swallow as tears start running down my cheeks. I'm leaving, passing on to another world. And leaving her.
All I can hear is sirens in the distance, lights flashing and people yelling. Footsteps around my car, yanking and pulling at the doors to get to me.
"Jamie, hold on." Somebody reaches in from the broken side window and squeezes my hand.
I can't answer.
I stare at the roof of the car, waiting for my life to flash before my eyes. They say most memorable moments of your life you remember first, but I can only see her. My wife. Her smile, these penetrating blue eyes, and her laugh.
"Jamie. We are going to get you out of here. Just stay with me."
I don't answer.
All I can do is memorize her face. I want to remember everything about her, taking the image with me.
"Jamie, hold on."
I smirk, closing my eyes once again.
"Jamie!"
I love you, even if I'm gone. I will tell her that every day, even if I'm not here anymore.
And then I'm gone.
