Hi. My name is Katherine Quartz, but people call me Kat for short. I am 23 years old but I'm going to tell you a story 9 years back, when I was 14.
Chapter 1
It all started on a rainy afternoon when my parents told me the news, they were gonna move to a new home or at least that's what i thought until they told me the bad news. The bad news was that my dad was going to stay here in New York, and my mom and I were going to live in Tennessee one hour away from Nashville.
I felt weird about it but the good news was my dad was going to join us after a year so it wasn't all that bad. Anyway I was excited about moving.
Chapter 2
We had a plane ride to Nashville and drove to our house from there and when we got to our home I was impressed. It was a HUGE house with a creek near by and it was deep in the woods and I really, really liked it, I still remember the fish in the creek. So that night we ordered pizza and slept on the floor with sleeping bags.
The next morning after breakfast I went down to see the creek. The creek was beautiful it was filled with orange fish and bright green frogs. I stayed there for a while then explored around the area. It was really nice. Then I went a little deep in the woods when I noticed a house, they must be neighbors. Before I could go in the house I realized it was lunch time si I figured I'd go after I ate something and maybe bring some cookies for them saying we just moved in.
When I got to the house mom was unpacking she made me a chicken sandwich. "How was the creek honey". "It was great, mom there this house and they are like our neighbors could I maybe bring them some cookies"? "Of course I just got a box of sugar cookies, you can take them if you like". "Thanks". After I ate my sandwich I went down to the house with the box of sugar cookies. I was excited to meet the neighbors!
Chapter 3
When I got to the pond I waded thourgh it. I started running for the house, I was so excited! When I got there, the house looked so dilapidated. The wall were peeling, the windows were broken and some parts of the roof were broken down I didn't think anyone lived there, it was just a abandoned house. I went up the steps to ring the doorbell I guessed it wouldn't hurt to try, but there eas no doorbell so I decide just knock on the door, but it just creaked opened. I took a deep breath and stepped inside. It smelled like rotting wood and fungus. I stepped back and left.
While I was going down the steps a girl came out and I turned around. She said to me, "Hello" and invited me in we talked (her name was Winnie) and from then on I visited her often bringing cakes and cookies. She lived alone without a family so I decided one I could bring her to my house and she could have a sleepover. Considering her background she was a really nice girl.
Chapter 4
I started to think there was something unusual about her. I guess I wasn't used to someone like her, it felt awkward. For some reason she always looked melancholy. I guess I didn't know a lot about her. Should I call the orphanage or tell my mother. Well I decided to tell my mother.
As I came in to my mother bedroom I saw she was making her bed. So I decided to sit on the couch. Then I told her everything about Winnie. My mom said it was best to call the orphanage. I felt weird about betraying Winnie. That evening I decided to go and see Winnie.
When I got to her house I noticed two very strange things.
1) There was a graveyard near her house
2) Winnie's house looked burned
I was worried about the part where it looked burned. Did it just happen, was Winnie okay. Or was it like that from before? I went inside and noticed a burnt body. WAS THAT WINNIE! I ran to my house so fast that when i got to the house i could barely breath. I looked for my mom and she was standing there removing boxes. I ran up to her and told her everything.
The next morning I woke up and everything looked so strange I was in my New York apartment on the floor looking at me were my parents. IT WAS A DREAM!!!
The End!!!
