The purple haired god was grinding his teeth angrily as he, from the bushes, watch the brown haired half-phantom pet the new cat she had found. 'She's been worshipping that furball for days' Yato thought. Getting tired of watching, Yato jumped from out of the bushes and walked up to greet Hiyori.
"Oi! it's the oh-so-wonderful, Hiyoriiiiiii!" Yato cried out as he jumped right in front of her. "GAH!! JUNGLLLLLLE SAVATE!!!" Screamed the half-phantom while kicking the god in the stomach. "Oof!" Yato yelped as he hit the ground. "Eh? Yato? What are you doing here??" Hiyori questioned as she helped him up. "And stop popping out of nowhere like that and scaring me!" She scolded.
Yato got up and smile at her. "I came here cause I was bored!" He said with an innocent smile. "Ugh, well just because you don't have a life doesn't mean I don't" Hiyori said while giving him an annoyed look, "Is Yukine here with you?" The half-phantom then asked.
"Hey Yato! I got those binoculars you wanted! Can I go home now?" Yukine said as he walked up to the two with a pair of binoculars that Yato was gonna use for spying. "Yukine! Uh, yeah! Thanks for getting the binoculars I was gonna use for uh...bird watching! But uh..Hiyori came walking by so I decided to just spend time with her!" Yato said with a nervous smile.
"Uh, yeah okayyyyy then.." The blonde hair shinki said while giving his master a weirded-out look. "By the way Hiyori... When did ya get a cat?" Yukine asked the half phantom while pointing at the cat that was sitting on her shoulder. Yato crossed his arms, clearly un-happy about bringing up the cat.
"Oh! Well... I found a paper saying that a cat had gone missing, so I decided to look for it! And then what do ya know? I found the cat! Her name is Mia but her owner didn't put their name or address or anything on the paper.. I was thinking of keeping it-"
"You made a wish and its been heard loud a clear! You can pay me the five yen later now let's go find that owner!" Yato said said as he cut Hiyori's sentence off. "But that wasn't a-" "You heard the lady Yukine! We got a job! Let's get going!" Yato exclaimed while yet again, cutting Hiyori's sentence off.
"You sound more determined than her" Yukine mumbled under his breath. Then, the trio was off to find the owner.
After a few hours of walking and yelling that they find the cat named Mia, still no sign of the owner, and Yato was growing more annoyed then ever. Almost even growling every time Hiyori even cute-talked to the little feline.
"Awww! You're the cutest and sweetest thing I've ever seen and met in my life!" Hiyori exclaimed to the kitten while petting it with a slight giggle and a kiss on the kitten's head.
Ok.
That was it.
Yato then turned around furiously and death stared at the cat, making the kitten's eyes widen in horror.
"OK THATS IT!!! SCRAM YA LIL FURBALL!!!" Yato yelled at the kitten. The kitten jumped out of Hiyori's arms and ran to a house. Hiyori tried to get the kitten to come back, but it just stayed at the house. Hiyori and Yukine then both beat Yato to the ground.
"WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT FOR?!" The shinki and half phantom both screeched furiously. Yato just started crying. "I'M SORRY!! BUT AFTER HEARING HIYORI SAY ALL THOSE SWEET THINGS ABOUT THAT DAMN FURBALL STARTED TO MAKE ME THINK THAT SHE LOVED THAT KITTEN MORE THAN US!! WAAH" Yato sobbed on the ground.
Hiyori crouched down so that she was at the same level as the crying god. "Is that what all this was about Yato?" The half phantom asked while putting a hand on his cheek.
Yato then nodded and sniffled, trying to stop himself from crying like a crybaby. It pained Hiyori to see him like this. Really. Even if it was for a stupid reason like this.
Hiyori then hugged Yato tightly, trying not to cry like him. "Yato, no matter what I'm not gonna leave y'all! Sure I might pay attention to other things for a bit, but it's not like I'm gonna forget you and not love you again! I made a promise to myself that I'm not gonna forget you and I don't intend to break that promise! Y'all are everything to me! I don't know what I'd do without y'all! Now, do you trust me?" Hiyori exclaimed while hugging Yato tighter.
All Yato could do was blush and hug back. "T-thank you Hiyori...that really means a lot...seriously" the god said while smilng at Hiyori with tears in his eyes. "No problem, let's go back home shall we?" Hiyori said as she got up and helped Yato back up.
Yato then got back up and started to walk back home with Yukine and Hiyori. Then, a few seconds afterwards, the trio hear a little boy gasp and they all look back.
"Mommy! Mia's home! Mia's home!" The little boy cheered as he picked up the kitten and brought her back inside to show his mother.
"Heh, guess Mia didn't forget her owner did she?" Yukine said as he chuckled. Hiyori and Yato both smiled at each other and walked hand in hand. Not even wanting to let go.
