The next day I found myself waking to the sound of a maid entering my room.

Uther had been kind enough to place me in rooms close to my "father's" bedroom. When I first entered the large chambers I was stunned into complete silence; right in the middle of a friendly conversation with Merlin who had escorted me after my magical discovery with Gauis.

This amused him greatly as he hadn't managed to get me to be quiet since I found out I had similar powers to him.

I believe his exact words were "finally some silence, I thought you would never be quiet".

Hus words had shaken me out of my shock and I had shared a laugh with him, I enjoyed to familiarity we shared as I don't think I could have treated him as a servant, especially after knowing everything about him.

The room had a king-sized bed with goose feathered pillows, which were a to die for and felt like you were sleeping on a cloud. The quilt and sheets were a stunning royal red, which was the theme for the rest of the room as well as splashes of gold.

Come to think of it, the red a gold seemed to be the colour scheme of most of the fabrics I had seen in the castle.

But anyway back to the present.

The maid brought in a large plate of assorted meats and fruits, which looked much to big for me alone to eat. However I smiled at her politely as she spoke in greeting.

"Good morning milady, I am Ella. I have been assigned as your hand maidan"

"Oh well, good morning Ella".

"I have your breakfast hear milady. Would you like me to assist you with dressing before or after you have eaten?"

"Ella, there is no need to be so formal. Alice will do just fine" I smiled at her as I placed my feet onto the cold stone floors of my chambers and walked towards the overly-large dining table.

"Oh, I couldn't milady" she returned my smile with a nervous one of her own.

"Well I'm sure after we spend more time together you will feel comfortable to drop the formalities" I sat down at the table and she placed the large plate in front of me, as well as what seemed to be a pure silver knife and fork. "Thank you Ella"

"No worries milady"

I remembered her question she asked about helping me to get dressed. Uther had also been kind enough to have gowns brought to my huge closet, and from the looks of them I knew I would need assistance in putting them on.

"Ella, I would also be very greatful if you would help me with my dress for today if you would be so kind" not to toot my own horn but I think I'm doing pretty well in speaking like a proper royal.

"Of course milady. That is what I am here for"

After my meal I picked out a subtle orange gown and went behind the screen. Ella helped squeeze me into the dress after instructing me several times to keep still so that she could tighten the corset.

For a young girl, she sure had some muscle.

I politely dismissed Ella after she helped me do my hair as well as getting me dressed; she is such a sweet girl.

A knock on my door brought me out of my thoughts. And to say I was suprised to see who was standing there was an understatement.

There infront of me panting, out of breath was Merlin... supporting a young, dark haired little boy.

I gestured silently for them to come inside. Then when I turned around to look at the pair, I was stunned by Mordred's pale blue eyes.

"Hello?" was all I managed to say.

Well I guess it really was the beginning of the end.
