Ebble secretly had another child, a daughter she named Ebble Pebble before giving her to an orphanage as a baby, wearing only a pair of crocs. Ebble hated the cros, but they were the only thing she had to clothe her daughter/son, however inadequately. Ebble Pebble grew into a strange child. She had an all consuming love for crocs, although she was always teased for her ridiculous footwear.
Ebble Pebble only loved crocs as they were the only link she had with her mother. She didn't actually like crocs. But as time went on, she grew deeply attached to her crocs. She felt that if she wore them everywhere, her mother would recognise her and they would be reunited.
She wore them for a long time on the streets, but to her disappointment, her mother never found her. She threw the crocs away FOREVER, vowing never to wear them. But alas, they had fused to her enormous, lumpy feet! Ebble Pebble went to the hospital to have them surgically removed. It worked! They were gone forever!
At first, Ebble Pebble was overjoyed, but as the weeks dragged onwards she found herself dejected and sad, yearning, she realised, for her crocs. But as she looked deeper into her SOUL she realised the crocs represented a false connection to her mother. She hated them, and she despised her mother! But there it was again - that niggling doubt in her mind. So, she went out and bought some crocs, not to wear, but to be there for her - the connection was not entirely gone. She placed them solemnly beside her bed, and fell asleep, dreaming of little croc wearing children skipping with their mothers.
Ebble Pebble broke out in a sweat every time she saw them. Hallucinations ravaged her mind and tormented her. Those crocs! The stupid crocs. She threw them out the window. She would find her mother instead. Ebble jumped out the window valiantly. She would have died, had her mutated feet not protected her - they had absorbed some of the rubbery protection of the crocs. As she landed, she heard a voice.
"Hello Ebble. I am not Pebble." Ebble Pebbble looked around wildly, and noticed the voice was coming from her crocs.
Ebble Pebble knew she was going insane. Realising her suicidal tendencies, she killed herself to be saved from the talking crocs. She tried to, at least. But the crocs stopped her at the last minute.
"Stop, you foolish imbecile! We are trying to save you from exile!" Ebble Pebble stopped. "Now get a phone. We need to find a Monotone."
Ebble Pebble was very confused. "What's a monotone?" she asked, momentarily forgetting her need to kill herself. Her crocs did not reply. Frustrated, she ripped them off her feet in anger and distress. They flew back to her, almost knocking her over. Ebble Pebble noticed the crocs seemed to have tiny, angry faces that stared back at her in an annoyed fashion. Ebble Pebble stood rather awkwardly in the tense silence and to fill it, she apologised to the crocs.
"Look," said Ebble Pebble, "I don't even know your name...names?"
The Crocs did not reply. Ebble Pebble did not want to speak to the crocs anymore. She crossed her arms and dramatically flipped them off her feet. She ran away in search of the Monotone, without her crocs. She would rather die then wear crocs.
"CROCS!" she yelled in frustration. She realised that she had said crocs. Ebble shook her head, disappointed with herself.
Meanwhile, the crocs had an intense, rhyming discussion, the result of which was the decision to let Ebble Pebble find her own way.
"We should let her go," one croc said.
"But she would be all alone," the other croc said, who was called Larry.
"That didn't rhyme," said the first croc, Barry.
It turns out they did not have an intense rhyming discussion. But they did let Ebble Pebble find her own way.
So, they waited, occasionally wincing as they remembered their abusive former owner, who was A Man, Duh.
A Man, Duh was in love with hippos and made her pet hippo, John wear the crocs. Barry and Larry shuddered at the thought.
They watched Ebble Pebble work into the distance, feeling sad as they wanted to go with Ebble.
"Wait!" they cried together. But did Ebble Pebble turn around...?
She did, and the crocs flopped around with joy as Ebble Pebble opened her arms. Barry and Larry leapt into Ebble Pebble's arms. Ebble Pebble jumped onto her warhorse, and they rode into the sunset.
