hoseok and taehyung's teacher glares at the two, who's holding hands and being too close to one another. the elder's arms around the other's neck as they're smiling looking into each other's eyes.

she scoffs walking over to the two boys, not wanting to jeopardise her job, if their fellow classmates sees them being way too close to each other wanting to do the same, and hearing an earful from angry parents.

"hoseok dear, i need to have a chat with taehyung, can you be a little sunshine like you are and go play with the girls for a while," the teacher smiles, crouching down to meet eye level with the boys.

hoseok pouts—but nods his head knowing not to disrespect an adult—"see you later tonight at my house taetae," the boy whispers before walking over to the girls already feeling uncomfortable, him never being close to any of them.

taehyung stares at his best friend who's now awkwardly talking with the girls, all because they were close like usual—he sighs softly—knowing that the teacher doesn't really want to talk with him she just wants for them to be separated.

the younger puckers his lip out, looking up at his teacher who's talking to him about friendships, him zoning out when he hears a laugh escape his hyung's lips.

-

"taehyung?" hoseok calls out, making the younger turn around to face him, "yes hyung?"

"what does gay mean?" the older asks looking at the boy in front of him—showing his doe eyes that taehyung just can't get enough of, wanting to look at them forever—the younger latter scoots closer to the boy's bed with the swivel chair that he is on.

"i told you before hyung, it means when two boys like each other, like you and i," the younger smiles, his boxy smile slightly forming, even though he knows that the older isn't paying attention, his eyes on the floor, the seven year old spinning around feeling dizzy.

hoseok doesn't say anything and continues to squirm around on his bed, embarrassed to have to ask someone younger than him these questions, him thinking it should be the other way around.

taehyung raises a brow, grabbing his hyung's jaw, "look at me hyung i'm talking to you!" the younger pouts, whining like the little kid he is, wanting attention, "now what else are you wondering, it doesn't matter that i'm younger everyone can learn something from all ages," he says—sticking out his tongue playfully—letting go of his jaw.

"w-why would teacher get angry if we say gay instead of green and yellow? the girls told me that people are calling us gay like it's bad? i don't understand why people think it's bad, why can't two friends like each other?"

the younger of the two bites his lip, spinning around in a circle once again, "some people don't think it's okay for two boys to be close, well...a lot of people, but being gay doesn't necessarily mean two friends just liking each other hyung," the seven year old giggles, explaining to his confused best friend.

hoseok cocks his head to the side in confusion, "then what else could it mean?" the boy wonders, as taehyung spins around once more.

"hmm, well you know how a girl and a boy like each other? like that. two girls can like each other in that way and so can two guys, but people don't think it's normal when girls and guys like each other," the boy frowns at the last part of his explanation, the older still being curious asks another question.

"so is our liking of each other friends or lovey like a girl and a guy?"

"i mean my liking is of a girl and a guy so i would hope you do too. do you feel weird when we get really close to each other? does your heart start beating faster?"

the eight year old hesitantly nods, knowing that when taehyung wanted him to look at him earlier, that he felt something weird in his stomach.

the younger grabs his hyung's hand before helping him get on top of him on the swivel chair, hoseok being secured on taehyung's lap, the younger wrapping his arms around the boy's neck pulling him closer so that their noses are touching.

"is your heart beating faster hyung?" taehyung whispers, continuing to look at the boy on top of him, smiling when his hyung nods slowly, rubbing their noses together before removing him off of his lap, mumbling a 'cute.'

"well that settles it then," the seven year old giggles, spinning around again, feeling accomplished knowing that his hyung likes him back, "that means our liking it lovey!" the boy stopping his spinning looking at a still confused hoseok.

"tae, where did you even learn that how we feel even means gay?" the eight year old pouts wondering how taehyung knows more words than he does, when he's supposed to be older.

"people always said they were 'gay' at my last school, so i asked what it meant, and i told my mom that i was gay because i loved my friend a lot, and she had a talk with me saying that's not what it means, and soon made me move to our school now," the seven year old states, his hyung nodding, before getting confused again.

"b-but the teacher is smart can't she just take the first letters out of the words and realise it means gay?"

"i'm smart hobi, i told the teacher green and yellow are my two favourite colours when she asked," the younger giggles, "and we'll just have to make sure we use it with other words carefully, yeah?"

hoseok nods his head giggling, when he hears his mom walk through the doorway, "come on you two it's time for your bath."

"did mommy put b-bubbles?" hoseok asks, his eyes beaming when he receives a nod grabbing taehyung's hand sprinting to the bathroom, being scolded not to run or he'll trip and fall.
