“What are you guys doing here?” I snap at them. They faces was filled with pain, hurt, and anger. I was glaring at them.
"Uhh, Jean, we'll see you tomorrow at school, I forgot we're doing something in one of our classes", Ariella said and walked backwards slowly back to the front door.
"Yeah, we're going to go now", Laurein said. "Yeah, bye Jean", Patricia said and followed what Ariella did.
“Don’t use that tone on us?” Luke said pointing his finger at me and completely of ignoring my friends. “What happened to you?” Nikki said. “None of your businesses” I snap. I turn and walk upstairs. “Get back here, we’re not done talking yet” my brother said.
I continued to walk upstairs, until someone pulled my wrist and turn me around. I saw my brother with a mad face. “Don’t you dare turn your back on me when I’m talking to you” he said.
I pulled my hand back from his grasp. “Don’t you dare touch me without my permission” I said back. “This isn’t you” my brother muttered. “Well this is me now and if you don’t like it, your loss, bear with it” I said.
“We’re older than you, you should respect us” my sister said. I just looked at her, and then turn my gaze on my brother. He was looking at me. I scoffed and turn back around and continued to go upstairs.
“We’re still not done talking” my brother said. “Whatever” I said. I went upstairs and went to my room. I closed it and let go of my breathe that I have been holding on.
I took my phone out of my pocket and called someone. The phone rang once, twice, and thrice.
Finally the person answered it.
“Hello” the person said.
“Hey Mark?” I asked.
“Little kiddo?” Mark said.
“Yup” I said sitting down in my bed.
“Why are you calling at midnight” Mark said groggily.
“What I can’t call my friend to tell them I miss them” I said.
“Uh I miss you too” Mark said chuckling.
I smiled, but it’s not like he saw it. “But what’s wrong?” Mark continued. How does he-?
“What do you mean, ‘what’s wrong’?” I asked playing innocently.
“I know you little kiddo, I know you when something’s wrong” Mark said. Damn.
“My siblings are here” I blurted out. There was silence.
“You mean your older siblings?” Mark said.
“No, my youngest siblings since I’m the oldest” I said in a sarcastic mode “Of course my older siblings, who else?”
Mark chuckled in the other line. “What about them?” he asked. “I don’t want to see them” I said. “Little kiddo, you haven’t seen them for a long time and you don’t want to see them?” Mark said in a surprise tone.
“Yes, I don’t want to see them” I said seriously. “It’s been 6 years since you last saw them, little kiddo, did you at least hugged them?” Mark said. “No way!” I said. “And why not” Mark retorted. “Because, because” I said lost at words. I, Jean Cole am for the first time lost at words by Mark. “See you don’t even have an explanation” Mark said.
“Because” I said again “You already know the reason, Ha! I got an explanation”.
“No, I do not know” Mark said. “And that’s not even an explanation” Mark added. “Hmmppff” I huffed and lie down in my bed.
