"You'll be fine Alyssa, just go, talk to the first person you're seated next to or something. Just don't ditch class like at your old high school."
"Fine, I'll go but if I start getting bullied again like at my last school, I'm going to stay in my room for the rest of my life."
"If you start getting bullied again I'm going to put you in online homeschool."
"Ugh. Whatever mom. I'll see you after school. Bye."
"Love youuu!!"
"Love you too."
                                           ~•~
                                        ~in class~
I walk into my first class and sit in the first two person desk I see that's empty, which is in the way back of the class - thank God!- and take out a book.
"Alrighty class would you please take a seat, those of you that aren't already sitting."
Someone sits next to me but I don't bother looking to see who it is - not that I'd know them anyway - I just sit there with my hoodie low over my face and read my book.
"Everyone comfortable? Good because the person sitting next to you will be your partner for the rest of this semester."
Great, watch this person be an ass hole and ignore me completely-
"Hi, I'm Grayson." I'm slightly in shock. His voice is amazing, like Aloe Vera on a terrible sunburn. I finally look up to see the most handsome, most beautiful guy I've ever laid my eyes on. It's like God finally sent me the angel that I've been asking for.
"H-hi, I'm Alyssa." Ugh. Can I look anymore like a fish out of water?! I'm glad I still have my hoodie to cover most of my face.
"Since today is the first day of the second semester, and I actually don't have anything planned for today, you guys can just talk amongst yourselves but please take out a pice of paper and a pencil so that if someone decides to come check on us we can pretend we were doing some work, ok? Ok. Please just nobody bug me." That teacher sounds like a cool guy.
Grayson then turns to me and says "So, you're new here?"
"Yeah, actually, I moved here yesterday morning." I smile.
"Cool! Maybe I could show you around school or..." I take off my hoodie and he trails off and just stares at me as if in a trance and has lost his train of thought. He then shakes his head a bit and continues what he was saying. "Um, hehe maybe we could hang out sometime and I could show you all the best places to go in  town. -" he runs his hand through his hair and looks around as if to check if anyone is listening. "Do you, uh, maybe... want to hang out after school?"
Surprised I ask "Are you serious?"
"yeah." He replies
"Oh my gosh, I'd love to! You're the first person to actually want to hang out with me since my 8th grade year." My smile widens and for the first time in years I feel true excitement to be at school.
"So, what classes do you have?"
I hand him my schedule. "See for yourself."
  "oh wow..."
"what? Oh my gosh what happened?"
"It looks like you're gonna be stuck with me all day because you literally have all the same classes as me!"
"Oh that's a relief! I thought you were gonna say that I handed you a blank paper or something."
He laughs and I swear I've never heard a more beautiful sound.
The bell rings and I start to pack up my things.
"Do you need any help?"
"No I got it." I finish packing up and then turn to him.
"Ready?" He asks.
"Ready."
"Then lets go! We're off to see the wizard, the wonderful wizard of math!"
And right then I laugh for the first time since my dad died, and for once that thought doesn't make me stop laughing. I have finally found an angel and I plan on keeping him close.
