Mielle pov

When we arrived into town it was late.

I can not honestly say that California was that big of a jump from home. Especially weather wise, but I missed Miami. KeiLani was the first off the jet, Chris, then myself. I stood silent looking around the empty, dark, airstrip. Taking in the strong Miami wind that suggested that a storm might be headed our way. Chris' baritone directed the driver and our luggage handlers behind me.

"Home sweet home" KeiLani spoke, walking up beside me.

"Yeah.. Home" I sighed.

Silence rose between us again, but I knew what she was feeling. Despite the distance our instinctive twin vibe never faded. I turn my body to face my sister before opening my mouth to break our silence.

"Elle', as bad as I know you want it. I can not promise you a happy reunion between Vinny and I so don't ask." she answered.

Giving me a response to my question before it could even be asked. It was too late to get into this with her tonight. So I just left it alone.

"You ready?" Chris asked from behind us.

"Yeah." I answered.

"I will catch you fucks later," KeiLani spoke instead surprising me.

"Why? Where are you going?"

"First off, I'm grown. Second, I have some business to attend to," she looked me over once more.

"Go play house" she scoffed.

She ran off towards the jet bunker before I got a chance to reply.

"Come on beautiful, its getting cold" he coaxed.

As soon as we got settled in the car, KeiLani rode past on one of her motorcycles. But not without flicking us off first. I love my sister not matter what the fuck her problem was. I gripped Chris' hand as we rode in silence to the house.

"How is Elena?" I questioned curiously.

"I guess she's cool." he answered dry.

"That's it?"

"I mean seriously Mielle'? Why? I really don't want to talk about this right now."

He let go of my hand. I understood that we were back in Miami so it was his game we were playing. Strike one was that he was my fathers right hand man and he trusted him. Strike two was that his wife was my half cousin. Even though he swore up and down that they hadn't been a 'Real' couple in a long time and he was basically single. I hated having to hide my affection for him from the family. This was one of the many things I hated about being back.

"So I guess it's back to sneaking around each other. Acting as if we don't exist to each other. All for the sake of status" I snapped.

"No! All in the sake of loyalty, respect.. family." he spat back at me.

"And besides me and her are not even like that right now so just relax."

Shaking his head he exited the car. We lived in a 16 bedroom, 11 bathroom, estate on the beach, with a ballroom, courtyard, gun range, and 20 maids and butlers. Spoiled much? Hell Yea!

I gripped his hand tight once more as I stepped out of the car.

"MIELLE'" Lee Mai Yelled.

"Mai" I smiled.

We embraced in a hug for a moment before she pulled me in the house. I missed home. I missed my family. I missed my life. I missed my daddy. College had changed so many things but never that. I would always be a daddies girl.
