Chapter 1:

I rushed down the hall trying to avoid him. It was Monday, but not just any Monday. It was the first Monday of the beginning of the month, meaning he was going to ask me out. How do I know this? Well he has a routine, on the first Monday of every month he asks me out.

Once I successfully made it to my locker where my friends were I let out a sigh in relief.

“Did he ask yet?” My best friend Emma asked. I shook my head and leaned against my locker.

“When is he going to give up?” I groaned.

“I think you should give him a chance.” My mother friend, Sam said.

“No.” I groaned.

“Not even one date?” Emma asked.

“Fine but only one date, maybe then he will stop asking.”

“He’s coming.” Sam whispered. A few seconds later I felt a tap on my shoulder and I turned around to see Louis Tomlinson.

“Hi Louis.” I said while smiling at him.

“Hi Z-Zoella, oh-uh you look really pretty today.” Louis said.

“Thanks.”

“So I was wondering if you wanted to go out on a date with me.” Louis said, running a hand through his hair.

“Sure, when?”

“Oh, I knew you would say no- wait, you said yes!” He said, shouting a little at the end.

“Uh, I’ll pick you up Friday at seven.” He added before running off.

“He doesn’t even have my address.” I mumbled while turning around to look at my friends.

Before I knew it Friday was already here and I was getting ready for my date with Louis. I shuddered a little just thinking about it. I mean there is nothing wrong with Louis, he’s cute and nice to everyone but he doesn’t have any friends.

We used to actually be friends but when his parents died he didn’t talk to me anymore. This went on for two years until he finally decided to talk to me again.

I heard the doorbell ring and I quickly looked over my outfit. I had on a black knitted sweater with denim skinny jeans, and black Doc Martins. My ombre hair was slightly curled and I had on only mascara and eyeliner.

I sighed and went downstairs and quickly opened the door.

“Uh come in.” I said. I stepped to the side and quickly closed the door.

“Hold on let me get my phone.” I ran back upstairs and quickly got my iPhone. I rushed back downstairs and saw Louis waiting for me by the door. He was wearing a gray beanie, a Ramones t-shirt, ripped skinny jeans, and white vans.

“Ready?” He asked. I nodded and he grabbed my hand, leading me to his car. “So where are we going?” I asked once we were in the car.

“It’s a surprise.” I groaned and playfully hit his shoulder. He chuckled before starting his car and driving off to our surprise destination.

“Close your eyes.” Louis said once we got out of the car.

“Oh-uh, ok.” I said while closing my eyes. I felt him put his hands on my shoulders before leading me to wherever we were going.

“Ok you can open your eyes now.” I opened my eyes and gasped at what I saw. There was a big red blanket on the floor with a picnic basket on top of it.

“Do you like it?” Louis nervously asked. I nodded and gave him a smile, which he returned. He sat down on the blanket and gestured for me to sit next to him. I sat down next to him and he opened up the picnic basket. He pulled out two peanut butter sandwiches and handed one to me. I thanked him and started to eat.

“Here let me take your trash.” Louis said while holding his hand out. I put the trash in his hand and he put it back in the picnic basket. Louis laid down and looked up at the dark sky that had no stars, I did the same.

“Why did you say yes?” Louis asked. I sighed and turned my body so I was looking at him, he did the same.

“Honestly I didn’t really want to come. My friend Sam said I should give you a chance. When I agreed I didn’t think I would actually have fun, but I did.”

“Oh, well I guess I was kind of expecting something like that because you normally would have said no.” Louis said, hurt lacing his voice.

“I’m sorry.” I whispered, and I truly meant it.

“If you really had fun would you go out on another date with me next week?” Louis asked.

“Let me think about it.” I sighed.

“Ok.” He said with a huge smile. I gave him a smile back and he moved closer to me but then abruptly stopped.

“Oh-uh, sorry.” He said while moving away.

“It’s getting late maybe I should take you home.” Louis said while standing up. I nodded and got up, sort of keeping my distance from him. He started to walk and I walked behind him. Wait but what about the blanket and picnic basket?

“Uh what about the blanket and picnic basket?” I asked.

“I’ll come and get it later.” He muttered. Once the car came into view I sighed in relief and rushed to the passenger side door. He unlocked the door and was about to open my door when I beat him to it. He frowned and walked around the car to get to his side. I quickly buckled the seat belt and waited for Louis to start driving but we just sat there.

“Louis?”

“Yeah?”

“Why are we just sitting here?” I asked.

“Sorry I was just thinking.” He started the car and started to drive me back home.

“Thanks again, I had fun.” I said once Louis arrived at my house. He nodded and I got out of his car, closed the door and walked up to my house. I looked back at Louis and saw him banging his head against the steering wheel. I laughed before going inside and locking the door behind me.
