BOUGHT BY THE LUSTY BILLIONAIRE, [2]
------
Jayden gulped nervously as Xaviers demanding glare made Charlie shrink into her own shadow. Eve left to accompany her husband.
"She's my friend Xavier,"
"Only friend you say?"
Jayden wistfully shrugged. He glanced at Xavier, then Charlie, flickering his eyes back and forth.
"She'll be accompaning me to the party."
"As a date?"
"Yes Xavier; like it's any of your business!"
She spoke out rather bravely and nearly snarled at him.
"How dare you speak to me in such a manner! Jay! Control your bitch!"
He was angry and she knew it. She could feel the anger and offence radiating off the man. Jayden choked on laughter as Xavier glared at Charlie.
"Only when I'm mistaken for a prostitute!"
There were certainly fireworks, she thought. Xavier marched up to her, damp from the pool and hot from the beating sun.
He grabbed her elbow and she winced. He immediently let go. They say a man's eyes is the window to their soul.
Right now, she was avoiding that window.
"We're going to go in now!" Jayden saved her from Xavier's evil clutches and led her quickly up a set of stairs.
He pushed her into his room and locked the door.
"Fiesty aren't you Charlie?" he sighed warily as he plopped on the only bed in the room.
"I'm accompaning you to the party?" She asked in curiosity.
"Yeah it's on Dad's side this time. If we want to show progress, you have to look sweet charming, and NOT a prostitute."
"And since when do I?" she retorted.
"You work as a cocktail waitress, it's only fitting." Jayden teased as she turned bright red.
"For the debts!"
Jayden knew her brother has debts, so heavy that it was in it's own league for her status in money. He still teased her though, and it infuriated her while making her regret telling him.
It made her feel weak that she had to cling to this man. She usually broke down in front of him from stress and he was always there for her. It made her feel weak unlike the independant woman she is.
"So were am I sleeping?" She asked as she plopped down next to him. He yawned and stretched his arms while snuggling up to her.
"Here is fine, makes good details to our act."
She squirmed in his arms, getting up and looking at him.
"I'll pass, I think I'm going to explore." she stretched her toes as Jayden waved her off and fell into a doze.
"Oh! And there's a guest room downstairs with your stuff." he mumbled and continued his doze.
Charlie unlocked the door and went out in to the hallway, feeling heavy in the heart. She had a screwed up life. Her hand made it's way to the two necklace nestlings at the top of her breast. Two broken hearts clicked to one. Her, her two parents, and her brother each had a piece of a broken heart.
Her parents had one each; that they gave her before they died. Hers was there too, but hidden in her shirt. Khale's was always around his neck. They were twins after all, but you could barely tell.
