The Beginning

Man had its limits, animals do as well. Days and nights passed as war spread throughout the world. Children motherless, wives became widows. Death of millions came faster than anyone could count. Beast became the rules of this world, man was about to go extinct.

Oscar was one of the few to survive. Roaming around the woods, desperately look for food and water, he came across a dark cave. Hearing the running of water, he ran inside. Pitch dark, Oscar couldn't see anything. He brought out a lighter, aliminating his way. Getting closer and closer to the noise, light could be seen. He ran towards the light. As he got to the point where he could see the entrance of the light, he heard the roar of a lion. He stopped, frozen, not knowing what to do.

His mind was going a million miles an hour. He walked slowly and gently towards the light this time. Crawling, he went to the edge. Looking over, he saw the lion, injured. It seemed as if it's left back leg was broken. The lion had been next to the river. Oscar got up, climb down from the edge, getting near the river. Carefully, walking where the lion couldn't see him, went towards the river. As he got to the river, the lion tried to get up, but failed. Roaring, calling his pack, it sounded as if he were in too much pain. He turned, looking towards the lion that was in so much agonizing pain. Not knowing what he was doing, he went to help the lion. He got a clear view of the wound. There was a cut, the bone was almost visible. Blood was gushing out as the lion got up.
"Don't move!" Oscar said. It was as if the lion could understand him.
"I'm here to help you." The lion sat back down. Oscar brought out a needle and some gauzes. He walked around the lion slowly and carefully. Bent over and began to fix the leg.

Afterword, Oscar backed away from the beast. The lion got up and turned towards him. Bringing out its enormous claws, was starting to walked to him. He knew this would happen.
"Beast, you all should've been killed instead of us. You are nothing but monsters. Come on, end it, it's all you know." He got to his knees and looked down, waiting for his death. Instead all he got was a roar so loud he had to cover his ears. The lion turned a walked away, limping. He looked as the marvelous beast walked away. Then, he passes out.

Two hours had passed, his brother, chief Jordan, had become worried. He went with a team of men looking for his brother.
"Oscar! Oscar! Damn, where is the little brat?" One of the men yelled out, "There are some foot prints over here!" Jordan ran towards the man.
"The foot prints lead in there," he pointed towards the cave.
"There's something else, there are lion prints, blood following it as well." Jordan ran inside, panicking for his brothers life. Pitch dark, he brought out a lighter to illuminate the way. He got to the entrance where the had been seen. He looked down, saw his brother lying on the ground.
"Oscar!" He ran down to aid his brother. "Oscar? Wake up brother!" Shaking him awake, Oscar screamed
"Oh brother you will not believe what I did. A lion was injured, I helped it, and it went away! It showed my mercy!"
"You idiot, you were lucky enough that's it! It would've killed you if it had the chance. You are just like mother, thought. I can't get mad at you. But next time, leave the beast be." Jordan got up and held out his hand. Oscar grabbed it and pulled himself up.
"I'm impressed by your bravery. And plus, you found this river. There are some berries over there as well. At least we got some water and fruit." As they left, some men were ordered to stay and get some berries and water.

As they got back to camp, their little sister, Leila, was waiting for them.
"Where have you both been? You, Oscar, are you ok? Oh lord, you are white as snow! What happened to you?" Even though she was the youngest our of the three, she was like a mother to them both.
"I'm alright, I passed out in a cave, and you will not believe what happened. I helped a beast."
A silence spread through the woods. The only thing you could hear was the slap on scars face from his sister.
"Are you crazy? Why would you help such a monster? You are just like mom, stupid, irresponsable!" She stormed off. Not knowing what he was saying, Oscar yelled,
"You don't understand, it was injured! You and Jordan are the same. Always misjudging me and doubting me! I'll prove you both wrong!" Then he left.
"Brother wa-" before he could finish, Oscar was gone.

That night, Jordan and Leila were waiting for Oscar at the door.
"You shouldn't have yelled at him like that. You know how he feels about her. He's still so sensitive." Taking a sip out of his mug, he notice his sister crying.
"I meant what I said, it's bad that he's like her. His curiosity will kill him like mom. I don't want to see him killed because of his stupidity."
"Just gi-" Right as he was going to speak, Oscar walked through the door. Shocked, Oscar looked down, hiding his face.
"What are you guys doing up? It's two I'm the morning. Go to bed." He walked towards the kitchen and go an apply. Trying to walk to his rolm, Leila stopped him.
"Where have you been? We were worried sick about you!" He didn't say a word.
"Oscar, are you ok?" Still no sound. Jordan pushed his head up. Blood. He was covered in blood. His eye was black and had scratches on his face.
"What happened to you? What did this to you?" Leila went for the medical kit.
"I guess I was around some of our traps. Because next this I knew, I was upside down, it was dark. I was screaming for help, but no one heard me. I was running towards the cave. I only had the moon light on my side because I got my knife and cut myself down. I landed head first, then blacked out again. I woke up a couple of hours later, with all my stuff next to me...and a blanket." Leila and Jordan looked at each other, confused.
"Someone must've cut you down." She told herself that but in the back of her head, she thought something else had done it. Before anyone could say anything, there was a banging at the door. Jordan got up and opened it. In a blink of an eye, the room that had three, now had a hundred people. Screams and chaos and panicking people took over.
"What the hell?"
"Jordan, there's a lion outside, it broke through the wall!" Oscar knew what had happened. He brought the beast to the camp. The lion had brought his stuff to him. And the blanket. When he had woken up, it was standing over him. He had made a friendship with the female lion. Oscar had realized if was a female when he woke up. But when he tried to leave, she would follow him. When Oscar got to the wall, he put a rope around her neck so she won't leave or get into trouble. The rope wasn't strong enough and got through the wall.
"Damn it!" Oscar yelled and ran outside. Their house was basically a bomb shelter. So whenever something came through, everyone would go in there and hide. Oscar ran towards the opposite way.
"Please be okay" he kept thinking to himself. As he got closer, he could hear her roars and the screams people were letting out. Men were getting their weapons and chains.
"Don't hurt her!" He grabbed to one of the men's arms.
"Let go you little brat!" Pushing him off his arm, Oscar landed against a tree. Ready to pass out, he could see her coming towards him and pouncing to get to him. The last thing he heard, was he mighty roar towards the people. He had blacked out once again.
