I SHUFFLE MY CARDS anxiously, trying my best to block out my sisters yelling by the loud music playing. Of course she’d be angry; I did after all knock over her cup onto Julie Wither’s new tank top. Like I care, anyways.

Bianca continued to scream at me, her hands flying all over the place. My eyes drifted down to the cards, but I still tried my best to keep my gaze on her.

“I said I’m sorry, okay?” I muttered. “I didn’t mean to shove punch on her.”

“Sorry isn’t going to make her stop gossiping. Look at her,” She waves her hands over to the fuming blonde standing in the corner talking amongst her friends quietly, “She’s already spreading some sort of lie around the campus.”

“This happens to everybody. I’m sure nobody will believe her.” I reassured her, trying my best to give a comforting smile. In return, she glares at me. “Okay, sorry, sheesh.”

She sighed. “Stop saying sorry, it isn’t going to do anything but make me feel guilty.” There was a short silence before I saw her sharply turn her head towards the gymnasium doorway, where our principle stood, guarding the doors. “Somebody’s watching us.”

“You’re crazy, Bianca.” I laugh. “Nobody watches us. Not anymore, anyways.”

“I swear… I felt eyes on me.” She kept her eyes fixated on the entrance.

“Probably just Julie and her friends or Mr. Thorn.” I suggested. She narrows her eyes, and then relaxes a bit. She then nodded and fixed her hat, a green worn out cap, which rested atop her long and silky dark hair.

“You’re probably right. Ugh- I don’t know what’s been going on with me these days.” She bit her lower lip in frustration. “Okay, how about I go and get us some water?”

“No punch?”

“Most definitely no punch.”

As she stalked away, I looked back down at my cards. Myth-O-Magic cards, to be exact. I continue to flip them and stack them in a completely different order. That’s when I felt a hand go on my shoulder. I jump, slightly shaken a bit by the scare, to only see my sister laughing lightly. “It’s just me, silly.”

She hands me a cup of water and I take a sip of it, laughing a bit as well. I look onto the dance floor, watching people dance, talk, and smile. “We could dance, if you’d like.” Bianca offers.

“It’s cool.” I grin, looking at her. “Just watching. You know, some people really suck at dancing.” Bianca giggled and shook her head in agreement, pointing over to a dark haired boy and a blonde girl at the far edge of the room.

“Those two aren’t even dancing.” She nudged me, smiling wide. I blinked, looking over at the boy. My eyebrows scrunched a bit. Whoa, I thought. “Right, Nico? Nico?” I looked over at my sister.

“Uh- yeah.” I widened my grin. I looked back down at my cars when I felt a tight grip on my shoulder. “Hah-hah, very funny Bianca, but it’s not going to work again this time. I know you’re here.”

I look over at my sister, who is glaring up, eyes widened. “It’s not me.”

“Huh?” I frown. Wait… I look up, to see Mr. Thorn- or at least I think it’s Mr. Thorn. I couldn’t really tell through the creepy expression he was making. He looked, well, creepy. Creepy, creepy, creepy. I smiled awkwardly up at him and tried to shake him off my shoulder. He pulled me and my sister up, and then he clutched the back of our necks. “Ow!”
