"Do you remember the first time we did this?" Acacia mumbled into Holden's chest. The brunette was straddling Holden's sitting frame, her cheek pressed upon the concave of his chest, while his hands nestled around her waist and on her sides.
They had been sitting molded as one for the last three hours of the night, their bodies lit up by the faint light of the beaming television screen. The two were reminiscing, taking it back to the first few months of dating – where they were only two innocent eighteen year olds, who couldn't go out past city curfew and had to result to staying indoors for movie nights.
It was one of Cacia's favorite moments of their relationship, and for a while it was Holden's too; but as months went by and the couple aged, peaking age twenty-one, did Holden grow tired of staying indoors. The sea green eyed boy sprouted into a man who wanted to do nothing more but live the stereotypical life of a pre-twenty-one year old male, smoking out at hookah lounges and toking before hitting up the local club downtown.
Acacia enjoyed night outs on the town but she couldn't do it every night of the weekend – nor could she go out and get drunk but be forced to be designated driver because she was the closest to being sober. She'd have to drive not only Holden, but his group of friends and dates home, only to then have to take care of a drunken Holden. Acacia's need to stay indoors and Holden's want to live life to his fullest potential and get drunk and high served as a main barrier in their relationship.
It had been a deal breaker that led to their downfall – but right now, in this moment, both Acacia and Holden couldn't appreciate nothing more being in each other's embrace, like old times.
"We were watching scary movies," Holden spoke, his voice rattling at the base of his chest. Vibrations were sent from Holden's frame to Cacia's ear drum, mingling with the sound of his heart beat.
Her fingers dug deeper into the sides of his clothed chest and she nodded her head, "Cowboys and Aliens and Texas Chainsaw Massacre." Holden's fingers nestled into Cacia's long locks, massaging her scalp and toying with the ends of her strands.
"And Joy Ride," he added with a hum. Acacia's brows knitted as one and she twisted her head so her chin was now atop of his chest. She peered up at him through her lashes, her puzzled eyes locked upon his bright orbs. "We didn't watch Joy Ride," she state.
Holden chuckled and wrapped a strand of her hair around his middle finger. "We did," he nodded, "well I did." He pressed his lips to the tip of her nose then a chaste kiss to her lips, "you fell asleep right when beginning credits began."
Acacia hummed and made a hissing sound as she tapped the tip of her tongue against the roof of her mouth. "With it being Paul Walker, you'd think I would stay away," she playfully sung. The lock of hair Holden was twisting loosened upon his finger and dropped from his grasp, his smile spiraling downward into a frown. Cacia stuck out her tongue half way, playfully biting on the tip.
"What's wrong?" she teased, lifting her upper half up slightly so her face was mere inches from his. Holden turned his head so his gaze was solely upon moving Almost Christmas shining upon the flat screen television. "You know who's really beautiful," he chimed, his eyes dilated upon the screen, "Nicole Ari Parker," he breathed.
Acacia looked at the woman on screen then frowned. Her hand gripped Holden's chin as she brought his face back towards hers. Her eyes bore into his shining green ones before pressing her lips against his own. Her free hand went to the back of his neck and she scooted herself closer on his lap until they were chest to chest.
Holden's face danced a satisfied grin into the kiss as Acacia played in to his exact plan, giving him what he solely wanted – her lips molded upon his own. His lips pressed against hers, his teeth nibbling on her bottom lip until her lips parted, granting him accesses to massage his tongue against her own. Cacia moaned into the kiss then slowly pulled away, lightly tugging his bottom lip with her. Holden licked his lip and grinned, running his hands up her sides.
"Who's beautiful?" she asked, placing her open palms on his stomach and tilting her head to the side. Holden grabbed the back of Acacia's head and pulled her to him, mumbling a 'you are' before placing his lips back where they belonged.
