This is the first entry into Luke Skywalker's journal. This year, my teacher wanted all of the students to write down what they did for their summer vacation in a diary as a school project. I think diaries are for girls, so, this is a journal. No matter what my sister says.
This year, me and my family are going to Naboo To visit my Grandparents. We planned for it all year and I'm really excited about it! Leia is not as happy..."I can't believe we have to go to stupid Naboo! Why can't I just stay here?! I'm almost thirteen and can take care of myself! Please let me stay!!!" Whinned Leia as she plunked down on the sofa.
Padmè turned to Leia, with a frown on her face and hands filled with things they'd need for the week long trip.
"Leia, what do you have to do here that's so important that you're willing to not go and see your grandparents?"Leia looked up at her mother with pleading eyes. "All my friends mom! I can't just leave them!!"
Luke, who was listening to his sister's pathetic excuse, piped up. "What friends? You mean the ones that just hang around Whit's End and do nothing all day?"
Leia whipped her head over and gazed angrily at her brother. "I have to stay! They don't know what to do without me!"
Padmè rolled her eyes at her daughter. Why'd she have to be so much like her father! "Leia, honey, nothing is going to change. We're only going to be gone for a week or so and your friends will still be here when we get back. Now go and start packing."
"Yes mother." Leia said with an irritated tone as she turned to leave. She then rolled her eyes at her mother when her back was turned.
"Mom! Leia rolled her eyes at you!" Shouted Luke as he jumped up from the sofa and pointed a finger at Leia.
Padmè, who was sick of her children's constant bickering, dropped what was in her hands on the sofa and put her now empty hands on her hips. "Luke, is your bag packed?"
Luke wore a guilty smile. "Not yet, my sweet and wonderful mommy!"
Now it was Padmè's turn to roll her eyes."Luke, go and pack. Now!" Commanded Padmè as she pointed to their upstairs rooms.
"Go."Luke walked up to Leia slowly and the two began their ascend to their rooms to obey their mother, all the while mumbling some choice words they most likely learned from their father...
Me and Leia spent the rest of the day packing for the trip. Mom used to do it for us and it only took her an hour, but when we do it, it takes half a day! Well, Leia had some trouble with packing...
"Mom! Where are my white shoes!" Yelled Leia as she ran from one end of the corridor of rooms looking for her shoes.
"They were in your closet. If you can't find them bring some other shoes."Replied Padmè calmly as she started up the stairs.
"But I need those white shoes! They're the only ones that match my pink jeans!" Leia said with her hands on her hips. She then went back into her room.
When Padmè reached her daughter's room, her daughter was there holding the pair of white shoes she so desperately was looking for.
"Found em'." Leia told her mother, then turned to pack them.
Padmè shook her head as she went to check how Luke was doing.
"Done!" Exclaimed Luke as he zipped his suitcase up.
"Already? Let me see." Said Padmè as she went over to where Luke was standing.
"So, mom, how'd I do?" Asked Luke as he zipped open his suitcase to show what lied inside.
Padmè examined her son's packing job and shook her head at what she saw. "A practice lightsaber, rubber play army boots, several comic holos, and music player. Son, may I ask where are your clothes for the trip?"
Luke pointed to the clothes he was wearing."Right here. I only need these, plus, they're my favorite."
"Yes, son. I know. And some day, I'll peel them of of you and give them a proper burial. Now pack some other clean clothes." Said Padmè as she went to Luke's dresser and began to pick out clothes...
Mom took out the play army boots and some of the comic holos just to replace them with some fresh underwear and a few shirts that make my neck itch. Then we had to go to bed early because we were leaving early, which sucked. Friday nights are for staying up late and watching Holoshows while eating junk and drinking soda. Then the next day, we got up and put the last of the stuff we needed for the trip on the ship. Dad was doing some last minute fixing on the ship while Leia finished calling everyone she'd ever known in her entire lifetime...
"What ya doin' dad?" Questioned a very curious Luke as he stood just behind his father.
"Finishing up fixing this jumpy hyperdrive, son." Replied Anakin as he continued to tinker on the part.
Luke nodded in understanding."Ok. Don't forget to check the main power converter." With that, Luke ran inside to see of his mother needed any help.
Upon entering, he saw his sister chatting on the phone like she had been doing for the past hour.
"Yes, we're going for a whole week! I won't see you guys for like, forever!" Told Leia to one of her friends.
"I know! We're all going to miss you. Did you know that Aennia said she was so bummed that you would miss the huge sale at the plaza mall on thursday. You're going to miss some big deals! Are you sure you still want to go?"
"Yes Talina. I knew that! It's not like I want to go. My family's making me."
"Ok...we are really going to miss you!"
Padmè came out of the living room with some pillows that still needs to be packed. "Luke, could you go around to all the sinks and make sure the faucets are completely turned off? I don't want our water bill running sky high because of some little drop we missed."
"Yes mom!" Yelled Luke from the kitchen.
Padmè walked over to her daughter who was still talking endlessly and aimlessly on the Main Comm. "Leia time to go. Say bye to Talina."
Leia rolled her eyes again at her mother. "You just heard my mom. I got to go, sadly. I'll call you when I get back."
"Ok, see ya later Leia."
"Ya, bye." Leia then ended the transmission and shut of the Main Comm.
Leia came out of the living room and towards the front door where her mother was. "Why do we have to go?! Why can't we visit them later!?"
Padmè, who had just come back from placing the rest of the pillows in the ship, put her hands on her hips and rolled her eyes at her stubborn daughter. "Just get in the ship."
"Whatever." Said Leia on the way out.
Then Luke came running to the door. "Every faucet is off, mom."
"Good, dear. Now let's go and join your father and sister in the ship." Replied Padmè as she walked with her son.
"Anakin? Ani? Are you close to being done?" Asked Padmè as she looked for her husband.
Soon Anakin came from inside the ship, having just finished fixing the last jittery part. He came and wrapped his arm around Padmè's waist. "Yep. This ship is in top shape."
"Good. Cause if this ship breaks down in the middle of hyperspace and we don't die, I'll kill you myself." Added Padmè as she kissed her husband's cheek and then turned and left a shocked Anakin behind.
Anakin then snapped back to reality and slowly walked into the ship, closing the door behind him.
As he sat in the pilot's chair, he muttered,"This is were the fun begins...", receiving a, "I heard that Anakin Skywalker!" From his wife.
