She was different than the past girlfriends I had and that was the thing I liked about her. Although the social medias think of her differently and create rumors to make us break up, we both know that happens just for attention.

Y/N and I started just as friends when it came to primary school. We both had this instant connection and likings. Teachers always seperated us due to the fact that they knew that trouble would occur if you put Y/N and I together. We both were funny, took things seriously when needed, and we liked to sing at such as young age.. But it came to that age where I didn’t look at Y/N at that certain way. Different type of guys came into her life and that crushed me so hard. I wanted to smack everyone one of them for breaking her heart and making her cry at 2:00 AM in the morning.

Honestly, I didn’t care if it was in the 1 AM in the morning or late in the afternoon where I would be eating dinner. I was somehow always prepared when she came to visit me. It wasn’t like I was excited and happy that she was broken up by her boyfriend. I hated seeing her torn up inside and eyes puffy and red. I was lucky because I was the shoulder she got to cry on. I was prepared for these things.

One night where it was maybe the sixth or seventh time where she knocked on my door at 5 AM in the morning with her mascara dripping down her cheeks, I got fed up with this. “You can’t do this anymore, Y/N.” I spoke harshly. She took a step back away from my hug. She looked up into my gaze with fear filled up inside of her. Did she think that I was going to explode and ban her from coming here?

“W-What? I’m sorry, it’s just that you’re my best friend and I need someone to be there for me. We were watching old movies all day until he stopped cuddling me and couldn’t take it anymore. He apologized a million times for what he did, and I just couldn’t stay at my flat after all the months that we shared together. He cheated on me, Lou.” Y/N bit her lip so hard. So hard in fact, that blood started dripping down her chapped lips.. I took her hand and guided her to the couch. I slid my thumb over her lip, hating the fact that she does this everytime.

“I fucking hate watching you do this to me. Do you know what you do to me?” I asked. She shook her head, hugging a small pillow to her chest. I swept her hair away from her face and leaned closer. “I hate watching you cry. I hate watching you get hurt like this. You know what hurts the most though? Watching you hold hands with different guys and kissing them while I’m in the back walking by myself. I liked you for so long now, I just couldn’t say anything because I was scared.”

Y/N blinked at me shocked. “Scared of what?”

“I didn’t want to lose you. You know, waste our friendship we built for so long.” I fiddled with my thumbs. I never thought that I would tell her this. And it was true. Y/N would always invite me to these little events where she would go with her boyfriend. They would hold hands, kiss, and do these things where I wanted to be the one and hold her.

Y/N grabbed a box of tissues and wiped her eyes and face. A smile spread across her lips as she giggled. “I’m so stupid. I’m sorry I haven’t paid enough attention to you. Why didn’t you tell me sooner? I had the same feelings towards you, but you had girlfriends and I sort of got jealous.” I laughed and wrapped an arm around her shoulder.

“Over me? Jealous? Wow,” I teased. Y/N pushed me away and threw a pillow at me.

I chucked at the pillow, and smiled. The way that her hair was perfectly wavy, and with hair strands straight, I loved every little piece of her. As we looked up at each other, there was this different connection know. It started to feel as if she realized that she was going to be more happy on with me than other guy. Closer and closer, we leaned in until our lips brushed.
