Chapter 4

It was raining when we arrived. The magic had almost lost all it's power, so we looked slightly normal again. We stumbled trough the mud to the tree. I ticked against the roots and yelled Revelia. An owl hooted. Rick, still carrying Nina, entered the headquarter and I followed.

'Hey Ri... Merlin's beard, that's Nina!' Said Emily shocked. 'Oh gobs, what happened?'. 'Out of my way, she needs some space' said Rick to Emily and Lisanne. He walked immediately towards the couch and carefully put Nina on it. I send my stuff to my room and sat down next to Nina. She was covered in dust and had scratches. Her right leg was painfully twisted, probably broken. Emily sat down next to me and gave me a wet towel. 'Here. Clean the wounds so it doesn't infect'. While I was cleaning the scratches on her forehead, Emily looked at her leg. She took her wand, cleaned the wounds and said: 'Ferula'. A wooden rod and some bandage appeared. Emily bandaged the leg. 'Get Tygo over here'. She looked at Lisanne and Rick. 'Ok, I'll get him', said Lizzy. And she was gone. After a couple minutes Lizzy returned with Tygo. 'Holy shit.. Make a bed for her in one of the empty rooms. I'll call the others that they have to return to the Headquarter'. He left.

While Emily was still nursing Nina, Lisanne, Rick and me prepared an infirmary. We chose the room between the guys corridor and the other empty room. Rick brought us a bed from the empty room while we painted the walls crème white. Lisanne duplicated the bed tree times, so now there are four beds in the room. 'This is going great, we only miss curtains and a sink'. 'Liz, I took a pair white curtains when we left. I can get them if you want'. 'Good'.

'Eh I'll go with you'. We both looked at Rick. 'It's a lot curtain to carry', he said as an excuse. 'Besides, you don't know where I put them', he smiled at me. We walked trough the Girls- corridor in silent.

'Are you ok?'. 'Yes. Fine. I'm fine', I quickly said, blushing. We entered my room. 'It must be difficult to see your best friend like that', he said. 'Yes it is. But I know she's gonna be ok', I sighted.' I hope my family is ok too.. At least still alive'. I must have looked depressed, because Rick suddenly hugged me and said everything is gonna be alright. I wished I could believe him.

When we returned with the curtains, Nina was gone. I walked immediately towards The Infirmary. Nina laid in the most right bed and Lizzy sat next to her.

'Ksst out of my way Loes'. I was still standing in the entrance. 'Sorry', I mumbled while stepping away. Emily carried a tray with a glass of water on it and put it on the table next to Nina.

'Where are the curtains?' Lizzy asked. 'Ehh...'. I turned around and saw Rick covered in curtains. 'I'm sorry'. I flicked my wand to release him and swished my wand towards the roof. The curtains hang themselves around the beds. 'Now it looks like a real infirmary'.

'Wow, indeed.. good job!'. We turned around and saw Tygo standing in the entrance of the infirmary. 'Shall I make some sandwiches? The others will arrive in any minute I suppose?'. Lisanne looked at Tygo. 'Eh yes.. I.. Err.. Suppose..', stumbled Tygo, overwhelmed by Lizzy's bossiness. 'Good. Marmalade ok everyone?'

15 minutes later

We all lunched at the infirmary. Nina's health was still risky, so I refused to leave her. 'Thanks Lizzy, I really appreciate your sandwich skills', said Tygo. I guess he thought he was being nice to say that, but he couldn't be more wrong. Lizzy turned red. 'Eh Tygo. Could you help me with the dish washing, please?'. 'Eh ok.. Sure'. He looked surprised at me and followed me while I collected the plates. BANG!

While I walked trough the door, I slammed into somebody. I fell on the floor and the plates I carried smashed around me. I quickly covered my head and heard a gasp. I looked up to see who I ran into. Jordy stood in the entrance. His clothes were ripped and he was covered in dirt, sweat and ... and BLOOD?!

Before we could ask, Jordy looked us in the eye, the tears ran down his face, and said: 'She's dead'. My stomach turns. I'm afraid for the answer but still ask the question: 'Who?'.

'Mariëlle'.

Around half ten

I sat in a chair next to Nina's bed. Emily, Esmée, Lizzy, Rick and Tygo were in the living room, listening to Jordy's story. The doors of the Infirmary stood wide open, for fresh air. Esmée and Fabio returned a few minutes after we heard the news. It was horrible to see Fabio's reaction. It was like something broke inside him. Mariëlle broke up with him a month ago, but he still loved her. You could see it in his eyes. 'But how did she died?'.'Well, I don't exactly know. She ran the stairs up and a few seconds later I heard loud screaming. So I ran to the first floor as well. I heared another scream, and just before I turned the corner, she.. Eh.. Exploded'. 'Jordy! Don't tell things like that, look what you do to Loes'. I was horrified and was about to puke. Rick walked to me and shut the doors of the Infirmary. I burst into tears. 'I..I c-can't believe she's..she's... sorry!'.

He kneeled next to me and faded the tears of my cheek. 'Shhh. It's alright to cry'. And so we sat there for many minutes, Rick holding me in his arms while I still cried over Mariëlle's death.

I almost cried myself to sleep, until Rick stood up. 'Where are you going?', I asked to the tall, young man, standing there in the dark. 'I'm going to sleep. It's already a quarter to ten'.

I tried to look him in the eye, but it was to dark. 'Please don't leave me', I whispered. He kneeled at me again, and I could finally see his eyes. 'Ok. I won't. I'm getting some blankets, I'll be back before you could say Dumbledore's full name'. I smiled. Rick stood up and left the room. I turned to Nina. She was still unconscious. 'Get well Nina. Don't leave me'. She was still motionless. I looked at her and was falling asleep. But just before I closed my eyes, I could swear she moved her hand.
