~A Little Experiment~
The front door of my house opens and I feel a hot rush of summer air invade my house. I look over my shoulder and see Logan, my best friend, walk into the kitchen. He looks hot, not as in sexy, literally going to pass out from the heat, hot. His caramel curls are plastered to his forehead and temples, partially obscuring his sea green eyes.
Smiling to myself I turn back to my task. Still, the knot in my stomach that forms every time I see Logan has started to form again. I can't help myself from getting nervous around him, feeling self-conscious. It's not like he knows I like him as more than a friend but the fact that I do is enough to make me a complete klutz. He thinks it's hilarious that I always manage to hurt myself in some way, I think it's annoying, especially since it's his fault. Not that he knows that.
"Dude. Water. Now." Logan pants.
"In the fridge, Tarzan." I tease.
He scowls and opens the fridge taking a bottle of water out and downing it in less than a minute, "Shut up, you wouldn't be able to talk either if you had to walk in that heat. It has to be over a hundred degrees."
"You crossed the street from you're house to mine."
"It's a very wide street."
I smirk at him, "Uh huh, sure. And last time I checked it was a hundred and two degrees."
Logan grimaces, walking over to me where I'm making sandwiches, "What are you making?"
"Lunch."
"Peanut butter and bananas? Gross."
I scowl, how would he know if it's gross, he never tries anything new! Honestly, if his mother would allow it he would eat chicken and mac&cheese every day. As it is, he only eats a handful of food, which is one of the reasons I'm going to make him eat a peanut butter and banana sandwich today.
"You have no idea what it tastes like, how would you know it's disgusting?"
"It's a no brainer, Parker! Peanut butter and banana's just don't mix." he states matter of fact, picking up a piece of banana and eating it. His tongue darts out to lick his lips where the banana passed and I find myself mesmerised. How I wish that tongue was passing over my lips or I could take it into my mouth in a heated kiss.
"Park? Parker?"
"What?" I gasp startled out of my fantasy.
Logan looks at me curiously before shaking his head, "I was saying that it's a no brainer, like rocks and pillows or two men kissing."
"Have you have been watching cavemen movies again? And you've never kissed a guy so how would you know?"
He shrugs, "The movies are good. And I don't have to kiss another guy to know that it's disgusting."
I manage to control my facial expression before the pain I feel at his words registers on my face. Turning away from him, I can't help take a deep breathe and close my eyes to keep my emotions at bay, it's so not the time to cry. Why am I even crying? I knew Logan was into chicks not dudes.
