Chapter Two

Amara Ericksson had never been more excited. She was finally able to reveal her year-long problem to an individual that would actually understand. At least, once they figure it out.

Of course she knew her fiancé was a part of something illegal. James was not one to just "meet someone else". He loved Pieter. And Amara. He was a man that understood a woman and a childs' sensitivity.

Unfortunately, his job often got in the way and it eventually led to his sudden departure.

"Amara, I am leaving you. I have found somebody new. Tell Pieter when he's older that his father had a good reason." And with that James picked up his suitcase and walked out of their home. But Amara knew that James was lying. His job kept him busy, he had no time to find somebody else.

Everyone knew who Sherlock Holmes was. He was a pest to those who worked IT and HR at Scotland Yard. More so to Amara. SHE was the one who cleaned up after the detective. She was the one that truly dealt with the media. That was her specialty. Lestrade was the only one who knew about her talent and what her job was.

Part of her job was to read Dr. Watsons Blog, hack into his account and edit the most recent story. That was how she was convinced he could help. In fact, the only way Amara knew she could honestly trust Mr. Holmes was through the troublesome website.

The door wasn't unlocked when she got to 221B. She expertly unlocked the annoying detectives flat, with a replicated key that the British Government had given her. Pieter just giggled when she raised a finger to her lips.

She knew that Sherlock would refuse at first, it didn't surprise her. What did surprise her was the unaknowledgement of the fact that Pieter was wearing one brown contact in his left eye. Amara thought that the animated looking color in said eye would be a given.

The mother knew he had underestimated her. As much as he boasted, he missed quite a lot. She surprised him, her evidence; his facial expression.

He must be horrible at playing cards. He doesn't know how to hide his emotions well. She thought as she sat at her desk later that evening.

Of course she could be wrong about that. She would have to actually spend time with him to know.

"Mummy, I wan 'awphunt" Pieter said as he clung to Amara. She glanced down at her son and smiled slightly. He struggled with saying the word Elephant and she was forever trying to help correct him.

"Say please, Pieter. What would your father say about your manners?" She grew a bit teary eyed as she mentioned James. She just wished he would come home and help her raise their son.

She looked at the picture next to her laptop. It dated to a year ago. Just before James left.

"Pwe-pwl-pllllease?" Her 4 year old said, dragging her from her sad thoughts. She looked down at him again, picked him up from his arm pitts and set him in her lap. She then reached for the velveteen elephant that she had taken from him as punishment.

"Do you promise to be a good boy?  Promise me you won't paint on mums bed again?" She said. She found him on her bed after her shower, using her paints to make a card for his friends birthday.

"I promise mummy. I won't do it again." Pieter said looking up at her as his bottom lip pouted.

"Alright then, you can have Aggsy back." She kissed his head and handed him his toy. He grinned and hugged his prize. Amara continued to go back to her work. A few minutes later she put Pieter down and sighed. John Watson had just posted yet another, extremely long and tiresome story about how extraordinary Sherlock and the case had been. She massaged her temple then proceeded to edit the article.

An hour later she exited the website and shut down the laptop.

Standing up she stretched a bit and made her way to the hallway where she found Pieter curled up outside the door.

I didn't even know he left, I must have been so focused on work that I completely missed him walking out of the room. God I need sleep.

Amara bent down and picked him up off the floor. I wish you would stay this way forever love.

------------------------------------------------------

Alright well, it could have been worse. Definitely not the best, but it will do for now. There's a little bit of alone time with Pieter. Relish it, because soon she'll be so busy with the case she won't spend much alone time with him anymore. I have plans.*evil grin*
But don't worry, you'll still see enough of Pieter. 👍👍
