Kelly: Ew Cory, you're such a creep sometimes...
Jess: [Smirking] Oh ease up KK, I thought that was kinda funny.
John: Actually, that was a bit disturbing...
KK(Kelly): See? At least John agrees with me.
[The four argue whether the joke was too dark to find 'funny.' Melanie turns to Mason, who seems to be staring out of the front window. Her happy expression slowly morphs to match his.]
Melanie[Apprehensive]: Mason, it's Spring Break, this is the time to relax. Why are you always looking for something?
Mason[Pauses and looks at her]: What isn't there to look for?
[The two stare at each other when something falls from above them, breaking their gaze. They both look up only to find debris falling from a crack in the ceiling. The bickering between the other 4 fades as they too notice the falling debris.]
Cory: The hell..?
KK: Has that crack always been there?
Cory: No, never seen it in my life.
Jess: So what in the hell caused it?
[Mason's eyes widen as he spots something through the window.]
Mason[Yelling]: Get out of the house now!
Melanie: What the- why?
Mason: MOVE!
[John is the first one out of the house. The rest follow without hesitation. Melanie stops in the doorway to confront Mason]
Melanie: Why? What's the urgency-
[She stops mid-sentence to notice something illuminating the sky a bright orange. Mason shoves Melanie to the ground and proceeds to cover her as if to act as a shield for impact. A blazing ball of orange and red connects with the house, exploding on impact. The shockwave from the explosion knocks the six teens down. Windows from other houses burst, and the fire begins to spread. The aftershock of the explosion ripples throughout the neighborhood causing the same results. A cloud of dust begins to sweep the streets, blocking the vision of those caught in it.]
Mason: Is everyone alright?
KK: Yeah I think so. I can't see anything.
John: G-Guys? Where are you?
Mason [To Melanie]: Grab my hand and stay close.
Mason [To everyone else]: Guys try and stay together. Stay low to the ground and feel for a building wall if you can.
[The teens find a wall to stick to and continue down the street. Another explosion goes off in the distance, and the smoke turns from a dark gray to a whitish orange.]
John: What the hell was that?
Cory: The fuck is going on?
Mason: Just keep quiet and stick to the wall.
Melanie [To Mason]: What's going on? How did you know about the house?
Mason: It's too much to explain right now. We're all still alive so just forget it. We have to get out of this smoke.
[They all continue to follow the building wall until they reach the corner it lies on.]
John: Hey! The wall ends here.
Mason: Good, they're at the corner.[Yelling] Wait up there for the rest of us.
[The six meet up gradually at the street corner. The cloud of smoke continues to swell through the surrounding streets.]
Mason: Is everyone here?
Melanie: Yeah, I'm pretty sure.
Cory: Okay we're all fine and dandy, now what the fuck is going on? Meteors are falling from the sky out of nowhere? No warning?
John: It does seem suspicious that there was no preparation by NASA or anyone for this.
Mason: Look, whatever is going on the current situation isn't going to change. Let's be grateful we're still alive and get to somewhere safe.
KK: Uh, guys...
Cory: And where would that be? Anywhere we go can be hit.
Melanie: We don't know, but we have to keep moving.
KK: Guys..?
Mason: Melanie has a point. A moving target is harder to hit than a stationary one.
KK: GUYS!
[Kelly points to the sky as it begins to glow orange. The others turn only to be horrified as a meteor rapidly approaches the streets before them.]
John: We're all gonna die.. [The light from the flaming rock reflects in his eyes]
Mason [With haste]: Everybody ru-
[Mason is interrupted by the impact of the meteor only a block away. Asphalt is thrown into the air, and a wave of fire erupts from the origin of contact. The shockwave throws the teens to the ground. Building debris, now projectiles, begin to fly past the six at deadly speeds. Disoriented, they all disperse and take cover.]
Mason [Yelling and in between coughs]: Don't go too far! Get under something if you can!
[As the effects the crashed meteorite began to recede a new problem arose. The aftershock from the impact shifted the foundation of various building on that street. And outburst of window-glass followed by crippling walls rippled throughout the streets.]
Mason: Oh shit. No no no...
KK: What's going on? I can't see anything.
Mason [Panicking]: Run! Everyone just run! The buildings are collapsing!
