Ice Moon: February, so named for the tendencies of the Valorian climate to pelt the southern parts of the kingdom with unpredictable ice storms.
Battle Moon: March, so named for being the earliest time in the new year that it is safe for armies to mobilise.
Rose Moon: April, so named for the headpieces of woven rose stems traditionally worn at their weddings, the month where peace terms are first sent and betrothals made.
Swan Moon: May, so named for the end of the hunting season for fowl
Honey Moon: June, so named for being the best time to raid a beesnest for the honeycomb, and for the honeycakes traditionally served at the festivities of the Summer Solstice
Light Moon: July, so named for being the month with the longest days and shortest nights
Lion Moon: August, so named for the constellation most prominant in the skies at that time of year, and for the beginning of the hunting season for big game.
Harvest Moon: September, so named for the end of summer, and thebeginning of the harvest at the end of the month.
Cider Moon: October, so named for the apple harvest and the cider-pressing festivals held by the common people.
Blood Moon: November, so named for the butchering of animals, and the end of the safe warring seasons.
Holly Moon: December, so named for the holly plant, said to ward off evil, and commonly used to decorate for the Winter Solstice
