Curse 001
Darien Mar sat quietly in his desk staring out the window to his left, his crimson eyes reflecting the sunlight itself. He sighed while resting his chin in his right palm as his classmates continued chatter grew louder and louder. None of their conversations made sense, they were only rumors. “Hey did you hear about that family that was found murdered yesterday?” A female student asked with a hint of fright in her voice. “Yeah! The family was found in their home. The police could barely even find their identities. They were sliced into tiny pieces!” Another girl squealed while cringing at her own words as a male then sat both his hands on the desk nodding. “But today they said that when the Police found the bodies a girl dressed in black stood in a puddle of blood smiling!” The boy said confirming what he had heard on the news earlier.
“Eww! Gross!” Both girls squealed in unison and in fright as the boy began mimicking more information that he had heard. “Stop it already.” Darien said in his normal calm tone as the boy ceased his mimicking turning towards Darien. “What did you say? Mar?” The boy asked while drawing closer to the sitting Darien who sighed as he raised from his seat staring at the boy straight in the eye. “Stop spreading rumors about the families death. It’s not funny.” Darien answered as the boy growled lowly towards Darien who simply stared at the boy. “Whatever man! It’s true!” The boy exclaimed as Darien brushed pass the boy leaving the room. “He is so weird!” One of the girls whispered to the other as her friend this countered “I know! One minute he’s all quiet, and next he will talk about death!” She exclaimed as Darien sighed while deciding to skip school for the rest of the day.
Quietly he made his way into an old Janitor’s closet which since last year he had fixed up and decorated. On the nearly black walls were posters of purple and black butterflies, panthers, and other things. Leaning against the center wall was a stool with a comfortable black cushion. Darien then made his way towards the stool sitting on it while averting his gaze towards the black ceiling. Where since he had found this room a strange message was written in crimson ink. “The wings of hell flap vigorously towards a soul, the soul cowers and flees. Only to be captivated by Hell’s beauty. Hell’s temptation.” Many times Darien has read this message over and over yet he could not decrypt it’s meaning. But for an unknown reason when he read the message he felt calm and at rest.
Darien smiled while resting his head against the wall continuing to stare at the message overhead. “You hate this don’t you.” Asked a airy female voice causing Darien to quickly raise to his feet searching for the source of the voice. But no matter where he searched in his closed space he saw no one. “Who said that?” He asked to no one in particular as his shoulder seemed to become heavier than it usually was. “If you want to know, follow my voice.” The airy voice beckoned as Darien completely entranced in the strange voice followed it off of school grounds.
