Milly Sanders
16 Years Old

First diary entrySo Mom bought me a book to write down how I'm feeling about moving. But I don't think it's going to work. She is a therapist. She tries to help children and teenagers raise their low self esteem. She is not that good at it though. She keeps a happy face still. My dad died when I was four. It's kind of sad sometimes, but I get used to it. He used to own this company, called 'Vet Gardening'. You heard me right. He tries to make gardens look nice for pets. Clearing space out so they can run around. He was a real animal lover. Before I came he used to be an explorer. Searching for new animal species, but he changed after he had me. So I guess for four years he was a gardener and a vet. It was an okay job I guess.
My mom doesn't really earn a lot of money. I don't have a big bedroom or many expensive clothes. We only have a little television. Anyway, I don't mind. I've never been much of a television kind of girl. I just like to crash down on my bed and read. I really like the Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordon. But my favorite author of all time is Michael Morpurgo. My dad knew him when he was younger. He always used to get copies before they came out in WHSmiths, just so he could read them to me. I was reading 'Alone on a Wide Wide Sea' before mom came in and explained this whole diary thing to me. I just finished 'Born To Run'. My favorite of his is probably either 'Mr. Nobody's Eyes' or 'The Wreck of the Zanzibar'.
