"Danny, get the hell up!" My stepdad yelled at me from the bottom of the stairs. I looked at the clock reading 6:50am. My alarm clock didn't ring. The bus would be here in 5 minutes. Otherwise I had the choice to walk or stay with my jackass stepdad. Neither one sounded great to me.
I jumped out of bed, grabbing jeans and a long sleeved shirt. It was way too hot out for it, but I didn't seem to have a choice. Red lines always cover my arms, hips, thighs, ankles, since dad passed. It wasn't so bad when it was just mom and I, but mom needed to travel for her job for days or weeks at a time, sometimes months, and needed some extra money. That's where my stepdad came in.
My mom needed money, and he needed someone to do everything for him. Judging by how much he makes when he actually gets off his ass from drinking and goes to work, it was a win in her mind.
Not even close for me though. We never got along.
I rushed to pack my books in my bag, but rushing usually means fucking up, so it doesn't much matter, really.
I put my books down and took a breath. I could only function properly if I was calm enough.
I picked up the books again and managed to fit them in my bag.
6:54am.
I didn't have time for breakfast this morning. But I wouldn't eat even if I did.
I threw my bag over my shoulder, running down the stairs, and out the door, slamming it behind me. It usually took me about a minute or two to get to the bus, but if I was fast enough I just might make it.
The sun beat down on me, and the amount of clothes I had on wasn't helping.
By the time I got to the bus stop, I felt like I just jumped in the lake because of the sweat making my shirt cling to me.
But no one was at the bus stop. That's what worried me. Because now I had to walk.
90% of the time I walked to school, Nick, Alex, Ash, and Jay usually caught up to me. I mean, obviously you have to know who those jocky guys at school are who seriously thought they were all that. Nick, Alex, Ash and Jay were just those guys.
And I was always their main target. There could be someone 10 times nerdier than me, or maybe even someone who's actually a gay, and they would still go after me.
I was always the target now since dad passed.
My phone read 6:57am. I started walking.
The walk was only about 15 minutes usually, but they're always longer when its this hot out.
10 minutes of walking, and my anxiety started to kick in.
Nick, Alex, Ash, and Jay are always here by now.
Why haven't they come to make fun of me yet?
Maybe it's a good thing though. Maybe they'll skip school today.
When do they ever skip out on a day to attack me?
Maybe thats what they're doing. Planning something more entertaining for themselves.
The thoughts scared me. I started to run the whole way there, not caring about how hot it was, how tired I was, without entirely why.

Slow start, I know. I was hoping this chapter would be longer, but I can never get myself to write long chapters XD
Honestly, I don't even entirely know where this is going to go. Like I have the basic idea, but I'm still working it out.
Comment your thoughts on it so far. I'd love to read them cx
