"Oh come on, Jack! It will be fine, just come inside!"

"I-I'm not so sure, I mean, what if your father doesn't like me? I should probably just g-"

"It will be fine. He doesn't like anyone."

I opened the door to the flat.

"Father, I'm home!!! This is Ja-"

"A boy who was clearly hoping to shag you tonight, judging by the tin of mints and packet of condoms in his pockets. Next!" my father, Sherlock, rapidly fired off.

"Dad!!!" I shouted.

He leaned towards his brother, my Uncle Mycroft, and whispered, barely audible to my ears, "When can I call Gregory to come take care of this shit on the floor?"

"Oh my god, you guys. Shut UP and let me enjoy myself just once! For real! I can't do anything with you two always insulting my friends and potential boyfriends! Why do you think I'm so LONELY all the time?! First, Johnothan, then Mike, Connor, Levi, Sebastian, Joshua, Felix, Mark, and now Jack!! I can't believe you!!! UGH!!!!!" I ran off to my room in tears, leaving Jack to be pushed out the door by my father after further insulting downstairs. I just sobbed into my pillow.

" Sweetheart?" Father asked, walking in.

"Just go away!" I sobbed.

I felt the bed dip as he sat beside me. He started rubbing my back. "I was just trying to protect you," he said softly.

"Just once I would like you and Uncle Mycroft not to interfere. If John was here this never would have happened! Why can't you just let me live my life?! I just want one decent relationship to go unruined by you two and your deductions! Just one!!" I sobbed again, starting to hiccup.

Father said nothing as he continued to rub my back in a calming manner, then he stood and left me to be alone to finish calming down.

I love them, I really do, and they know it. It's just getting harder to get guys to like me because of my father and what he does each time I bring someone home. I don't know. I'll just talk to him about it in the morning, I guess. For now, I am exhausted, like, I really need some sleep.
