"Are we allowed to cross the police tape?" Mark asked. He, as well as Felix and myself, were standing in front of my apartment.

"It's my apartment; I'm allowed in and out as I please," I replied, pulling down the tape.

"Where's the window they broke?" Felix asked, stepping inside. Mark pointed across the living room, and he walked over to it, bending down and picking something up among the broken glass. "I thought I saw something in that video."

"What's that?" I asked. Felix stood up and turned around, holding up a small plastic bag about the size of his palm.

"That first man dropped this when he went to go grab your (purse/wallet) and pendant," he said, opening it up. "Let's dump the contents on your table."

Mark grabbed a broom from the corner of the room and swept up the glass remains, while Felix and I walked into the kitchen and emptied out the bag. Two pieces of paper fell out, as well as a small, sliver ring with the name 'Charlie' inscribed in it. There was also an origami cube, painted blue- it had different numbers of dots on the sides, resembling a pair of dice.

Felix unwrapped the first paper, which contained a map of our floor. Around my apartment was a circle in sharpie, with the word "CHARLIE" scribbled above it. There were arrows pointing at apartments A5 and A6, as well as the YouTube logo. "CELEBRITY" was scribbled above the logo, along with a small Warfstache and Septiceye.

"Jesus," Felix said, staring at the map. "Stalker much?"

I unfolded the second piece of paper- it was a hand written letter, written in black pen. "Dear Charlie- you didn't have to do this. You didn't have to die. You could have joined us, you could have run away with us. All your problems would have gone away. But no, you didn't want to get rid of your (son/daughter)- no, you took your own life. Our price was too high to pay." The next part was written in red ink. "You will pay the price."

I stared at the letter in horror. "So, what did you find?" I heard Mark say. He must've walked into the room, but I hadn't noticed; I could barely think straight. I just dropped the letter and started crying, and he grabbed my shoulder. "Hey, it's OK, it's OK! What happened?"

"They were hunting my dad..." Felix picked up the letter.

"Your dad's name was 'Charlie'?"

"No, it was (D/N)," I said, "but he went by 'Charlie' when he was around his friends."

"They don't seem very friendly..." Felix said, quieter as he laid the paper on the table. Even he looked spooked.

"What'd it say?" Mark asked, picking up the paper. I could see his eyes widen as the cruel words sank in. "Oh, God..."

"I think this is a threat," Felix admitted, looking up at Mark with concern.

"But my dad's dead," I countered.

"It appears as if he died without giving these people something they wanted," he continued. "I think they want something to make up for it-"

"Felix-" Mark started.

"I think they want you." I froze. Not because I was scared, no, but because that actually made sense. 'You didn't want to get rid of your (son/daughter) - no, you took your own life. Our price was too high to pay.'

"That's it..." I said. "They offered him an out. He was going crazy. They took advantage. They wanted me, and he refused, and now..."

"They're back," Felix finished.

"We need to tell the police," Mark said, setting the letter down. He picked up the ring. "Why is this ring here?"

"Maybe it was like a gang or something," Felix suggested. "It does say 'Charlie', and that was obviously some sort of code name."

"That would explain why he kept getting in trouble, and the whole 'out with a price deal'," I agreed.

"But how would they know where you live, or that we're here?" Mark asked. I gasped.

"The hallway! I was talking to Emma in the hallway! That's how they know I'm here. And we were talking about Jack, too. When they saw the note with your name on it on Emma's door, they probably assumed who you were, and that you'd get in their way."

"So they know we're all here," Mark recapped.

"We need to move," Felix said. "ASAP."

"I can start packing tonight," I said, more than willing to leave this God forbidden apartment.

"Wait a sec-" Mark started again.

"We should pack tonight, head to the station in the morning, and then move in the afternoon!" Felix exclaimed.

"FELIX!" Mark shouted, and he clamped his mouth shut. Mark pointed at the wall. "We don't need to be here."

Sure enough, there was a camera lying right where he was pointing, its red light blinking slowly.

We were being watched.
