Gray was a normal 17 year old boy, besides the fact that he was hipster and didn't wear a jockstrap. The night of June 23rd he was sitting in his usual spot in the local café having a mug of black coffee as he normally does, when walks in someone he has never seen before. "Some hot girl walking into my café?" he thought to himself. "Why is she in this run down town?" Gray doesn't have many friends and the girl he likes was just found making out with the hottest guy in school. "Kudos to her" he silently thought as he rolled his eyes. "I gotta talk to her" he told himself. She sat down and ordered a black coffee. Gray immediately started drooling over this girl. Maroon beanie, flannel, black coffee. What more could he ask for. No one else was in the café so he decided to go up to the young woman. "Well you don't look like a local." He chuckled. "May I sit?" As he points to the seat across from her.
"Oh, sure." She smiles.
"What brings you here? If you don't mind me asking."
"My parents divorced and I chose to live with my dad and he lives about a block away from here. I just needed somewhere to be away for a minute."
"Shit. Well what's your name?"
"Avery. You?"
"Gray. Nice to meet you Avery." He smiled at her.
"Cute name, and I'm gonna be blunt and say you're pretty cute." She examined his backpack. "What 'cha stashin'?" Gray opens his backpack and a sudden smell of marijuana filled the café.
"Whoops ignore that." He said while cackling. "I have quite a few things." He says. "You like to smoke?"
Avery was smirking. "Keep your voice down idiot. Yeah of course I do." She looked into his eyes. "You sell?"
"A little yeah, or depending on the person-" He paused then winked. "Maybe I'll give you a hit off my own supply."
"You don't care if they hear you?" She asked pointing towards the employees.
"They know I smoke. I practically live in this coffee shop." He sat silent. "Wanna roll one up?"
"Oh, sure." She was taken back by this.
"Follow me." He said waving his hand and walking towards the door and to the back of the building. She got up and followed him. They sat down on milk crates and he grinded his weed. "So... do you have any friends here yet?"
"I know you and the barista." She chuckled. "That's it.. But I'll be meeting some new people when school starts back up again."
"Nice." He rolls the joint and flicks his lighter. Taking a huge breath in he closed his eyes. He held the breath then exhaled and handed the joint to Avery.
"Thanks." She put the joint to her lips and asked, "This isn't laced is it? You're not trying to drug me and then kill me right?"
He laughed and said "No, just take a hit."
She inhaled and gave the joint back to him while breathing out the big cloud of air. "How do you like your coffee?" She asked.
"Black." He smiled then said "Same as you."
