To Marcus:
Sure. Meet me at Milano's
At 10th street.
Bye
x Mia

Present Day.

I drove to Milano's which is 10 minutes from my house. I take one last look of my outfit, black brallet, over sized ripped light washed jeans which are tight around my ankles and black boots that ended on my ankles and last was a white knitted cardigan. I hopped out my car and walked inside and saw Marcus sitting in one private booth in the very corner where no one could see, playing with his fingers. When he's nervous or scared he always plays with his fingers. He saw me staring at him and he jumped out the booth.

Marcus was wearing his soccer red jacket jersey along with a white shirt and black jeans with white J's.

"Um hi Mia. Are you fine with this booth? We can go get another one if you like." He ranted giving me a nervous smile. I've never saw him this nervous.

He's dying to tell me something.

"No no. It's fine. Don't worry Marcus." I assured him and took a seat. He sat in front of me staring into my eyes. I can see the sadness and regret in his chocolate brown eyes.

"What would you like to start off with?" A man about in his early twenties came up to us.

Marcus ordered a mango shake while I ordered a strawberry Italian soda.

"I'll be back with your drinks." The man walks away. Silence filled us awkwardly. Not one of us wanting to start the conversation.

After a few minutes Marcus grew impatient and started talking.

He gulped and started. "I-I'm so sorry Mia. I just couldn't stop fighting. It's like a drug to me. I'm addicted to it-" I closed my eyes. "-But Ive been trying to stop. For you Mia. And the only reason I've been so distant is that I didn't want you to know. To figure out what I've been up to. I told you that you would look cute with JT but I didn't know you didn't take it as a joke and DID went for him. A-and after that I knew I was in deep trouble, because both of us are enemies. And if he told you, you would come to me and yell at me like how you did at the game." I opened my eyes and I didn't realize I was crying and his eyes were already going to pour water. He wipes my cheeks with his thumb and continued.

"And when I saw you at the fight and bet on him it hurt Mia. It did."

"Then why did you continue? If you knew it would hurt you why didn't you tell me instead of me figuring it out!" I whisper yelled so no one could hear. "What happened to the Marcus I used to know? The one who didn't keep secrets away from me, the one who was true and honest. Marcus you don't even go home to your family! What other secrets have you been hiding huh? That you now live somewhere else? That you're on drugs? Th-that you're leaving me?"

"No."

"Then what Marcus What? Why did you have to leave me? Why did you give me away? If you loved me you wouldn't have done it."

By this time I was shaking and eager to find out what he's been hiding.

He didn't answer.

"Am I not good enough?" I whispered my tears still pouring. "Am I ugly for you?"

"No."

"THEN WHY?"

"Mia I-I'm married."

My jaw tightened. My knuckles are white as a sheep, my eyes are flaming, my nose is flaring fire.

"Then why do you want to make things right?"

"Because I missed the old us!" He threw his hands up.

"You are married. To someone I've probably never seen before nor heard before. And you didn't even invite me to the wedding? How dare you? Yes I am still in love with you but I wouldn't miss your wedding. Because I am not that type of person. And I have respect for her so no I would not want to make things how they used to be Marcus. How could you?" I grabbed my bag and ran. He didn't come after me. I ran out in the streets until someone pulled me back and hugged me. It wasn't Marcus.

It was JT.
