June 2nd

Ah, I thought to myself as I made my way to the beach, this is something I could get use to. The blue water rushing and forming waves, the bright warm days, the sand between my toes as I continued to walk, barefoot of course. What was the point of wearing shoes at the beach if sand was going to end up in them? Looking around for a spot I decided to pick one the farthest away from the crowd not wanting to be disrupted while I tanned. I laid out my towel and plopped down putting my headphones in to block out the noise of the laughter that surrounded me. My last summer before adulthood. I was feeling a mixture of nerves and excitement. Excited to start in a new town and began my life, but nervous for those reasons as well. None of my friends applied to the college I will be going to, so that was a terrifying thought in itself. Sure I knew a couple of people due to the groups created through twitter, but it was not the same. Sighing, I closed my eyes. Well, I at least have until July eighth, which was a month and six days away, to enjoy it at the beach house with my friends before we head back home and begin to get situated for move in which was in August.

Just as I started to doze off, a shadow fell over me causing me to jump up a bit. Jump right into the end of a surfboard.

"Oh man, I'm so sorry." I heard a voice say. I snatched my sunglasses off as I sat up, I turned my face up to glare at the man who stood next to me. His mouth was slightly opened, his eyes wide in shock.

"What the hell were you thinking?" I asked loudly. "Do you think it is normal to stand directly above someone with a surfboard?"

"Your nose, it's swollen." Was all he could get out. I felt my nose increase in size, but I did not care at the moment. I was baffled. I stood up quickly and yanked my towel and started back to the beach house.

"Let me make it up to you!" He called out to me. I shook my head.

"You have already done enough and I don't even know who you are." I called back over my shoulder. He was following me.

"My names Liam, and you are?"

"Not speaking to you."

"Let me help you at least."

"It would help me if you would leave me alone." I said as I made it to the back of the beach house.

"I just want you to know that I am really sorry and if you need anything. Anything at all, I'm staying right next door to you." Great I thought. I ignored him and stomped up the back patio. I opened the door and turned around after I walked through the threshold. I saw him standing at the back gate. Rolling my eyes I slammed the door shut. I walked to the bathroom and grimaced at the reflection. My nose was three times bigger than normal and I had nothing to ice it with. Great freaking way to start off summer break.

"Violet were here!" I took a deep breath and walked out of the bathroom to greet my friends in the living room"

"Your nose!" They all said in unison.
