"Here." Saphron said as he handed Agis a book. His voice echoed off the walls of the massive castle they stood in. It was Saphron's castle. It stood as high as the mountains themselves.
"What is it?" Agis asked. The book was engraved with strange writing he couldn't understand on the front. It had descriptions of different creatures in the world. It was so thick it would take hours to find a specific creature.
"It's a book filled with research." Saphron replied. "It has been passed down from generation to generation, and it is time for me to pass it to you." That made sense. It couldn't have been one person that wrote all of this, Agis thought.
"It will be your job now to fill it in more." Saphron continued.
"It seems that there's already about every creature imaginable in this." Agis thought out loud.
"You have no idea how many creatures there are. There are more than you could ever imagine. I have been adventuring for over 300 years, and its my time to retire and settle into a house, with your mother. Before I retire I needed to entrust someone with the task of filling this book with more information. I chose you to take this task, over your siblings, because you're smart, energetic, and probably the most capable to undertake the task. I am entrusting you with this book in hopes you can expand your knowledge and the knowledge of Edens to come." Saphron explained
"I will not disappoint you." Agis promised.
"You have a big adventure ahead of you Agis. You should head out twords your destiny." Saphron suggested.
"I agree." Agis said.
The next day Agis took some of his dad's many gold pieces and started to head north when he found a band of warriors. They might not have looked like a noble group, but he could sense their potential, so he joined them. For the reason of secrecy he decided to keep his identity secret. He kept his name because they were foreigners, and wouldn't know of his origin. At this point, he knew this was the start of an adventureThis will be the only part of this story it is more of a backstory for the people I play D&D with then the start of a story.
