The marching of the Clones of the 501. Legion could be heard as they were entering the old sacred halls of the Jedi Temple, the home of the keepers of the peace, the defenders of the light in the galaxy.
The old walls of the temple had never seen such a cruelty as it should happen at this day, the day of the fall of the Republic. Order 66, a devilous plan invented by the Supreme Chancellor of the Republic, once a man the Jedi trusted in, now nothing more than a traitor.
The leader of the soldiers was no other than Anakin Skywalker, a knight of the light, a hero of the war, the hero with no fear.
But the Chancellor had clouded his mind, poisoned it. His only aspiration now was to extinguish every living Jedi to make the galaxy a safer place, but at this moment the young Sith didn't know, how much grief and suffering he would cause in these following 19 years...
This regim started at this perticular day, the day Anakin Skywalker stepped into the footprints of Darth Tyrannus, the footprints of the ultimate evil, the footprints of the Sith.
He joined those, he tried to erase all those past years, only to save his beloved Padmé from the unpreventable death.
Words echoed in his mind, Mace Windu's screams haunted and tormented him. He was captured in trance. It was almost like his mind didn't want to accept the fact of his betrayal and the suffering he would cause. It couldn't be undone, never.
The night had fallen over the skies of Corsuscant, at the time Darth Vader took his first step in the vast foyer of the temple, he had returend to so many times after sucessfully concluded missions as a General of the Grand Army of the Republic.
The Jedi-Temple had been his home since he was nine, his safe haven, whether he had spent time there with meditating or lightsaber- and combattraining with Obi-Wan, his mentor and friend.
Obi-Wan, when his face flashed before Anakin's mind's eye, he felt a sharp pain in his heart, he knew he had to grant his masters wishes to whipe out every single remaining Jedi. But..., he knew he couldn't murder his long-time friend, his mentor, his only father figure.
For the first time doubts made their way into Anakin's mind, but the new-born Sith-lord reminded himself why he had to do all of this, for Padmé, his angel, what he would have to do was the only solution to save her from the unpreventable death.
Only the thoughts of Padmé and their unborn child made him keep marching forward, while he felt his legion close behind him, he couldn't prevent the tears from falling onto the floors of the temple. He was aware of the sacrifices he had to make and the difficulties he had to overcome.
But he had a reason, that was more precious to him than all the stars in the galaxy.
